•I had a poor check in experience owing to system problems(?) and it took 20 minutes.
Sadly the hotel is also using automated check in/out machines. This is the function of the reception staff! Get rid of these machines!
I watched a family trying to use them and they had problems.
☆ Hotel staff were great and it's a nice place to stay. The area is not the best, some interesting characters on the street!

Just stay in Amsterdam city center. The “self check in” is awful. Pay the extra to stay close to city center, as you pay it anyway in cab fare. Plus - this hotel doesn’t even provide coffee in the morning unless you pay for a full breakfast or buy out of a cheap vending machine.

We stayed 4 night 5 days.
The location was perfect, with easy access to the tram and bus stations, as well as a supermarket nearby. There was also a bar in the hotel where we could enjoy drinks and food.
The room was very clean and quiet, and we had a good night's sleep. However, it was a bit small for four people, due to open shower water tended to splash everywhere, leaving the bathroom floor wet. Also, the sink did not drain very well.
The reception staff were very helpful and kindly allowed us to store our luggage before check-in and after check-out.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a comfortable, restful experience.

Check in (self) is to detailed. Good breakfast. Room was cleaned when I arrived, but even though I had placed the "please make up this room" sign outside at 10:00 the second day - it had not been cleaned by 16:00.
Terrible noisy and not to efficent A/C in room, I had to sleep with "ear" plugs (but still heard it).
Expensive parking (EUR 25/day), but advise to use for safety even though there is a lot of street parking.
Not the best area to walk through at nigh (to/from the tram) - even at daytime a lot of people drinking, smoking and taking drugs at the street (never walk alone!)

I thought the hotel was near to airport and trams were about 5 min walk.. very convenient location.. check in was easy and straightforward and staff was pleasant.
