The best hotel in my life

I had been doing a budget Europe trip and as my last day I wanted to go big, so I choose Sir Savoy and it was the best sleep in my life. Their mattresses are to die for....you sleep on clouds, you feel huged! The place is clean and staff super extremely friendly!!!
I would recommend this to anyone anytime ❤️ do not miss the best night sleep in your life!

Good Stay

Arrived at 11am and was really surprised that they let me check in early.
The hotel was very quiet based on the Covid situation at the time.
Room upgraded. The room was huge with a pleasant sitting room.
Breakfast was in line with Covid restrictions. (Was shut for lunch and dinner.)

Terrible hotel. Avoid at all costs.

Badly ventilated rooms in combination with unbearably loud music coming from outside (it’ll stop around midnight, not many chances of getting any sleep before that). Moreover, even though temperature outside was around 24 degrees Celsius, the inside room temperature was closer to 30 Celsius, making sleep uncomfortable at best and impossible at worst. There is of course no air condition, and only a tiny and ineffective table fan to circulate the stuffy hot air in the room. I guess spending 20 euros on a normal standing fan was too much for them.
Add to that extremely poor internet connection, terrible pillows which give you a stiff neck when you get up in the morning (after sweating all night), and a small, badly designed, slippery and dangerous shower to make the experience of staying at this hotel one of the worst I’ve had in my life.
Avoid at all costs.

VERBALLY RIDICULED, ASSAULTED AND THREATENED BY FRONT DESK MANAGER

I formally lived in Berlin and having been coming frequently to this beautiful city. Nearly every time I have visited, I have made an extra effort to stay at Savoy Hotel Berlin. The architecture and style are reminiscent of swinging 1920's of Berlin. My last stay has changed my opinion entirely.
I arrived on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2020 for a 5 night stay prior to my next stop in Europe. Early morning at 2:00am EU time, the US announced the pending closure of the US-EU border by 12:00am Friday March 13th. I immediately changed my plans to leave Germany several hours later to return to New York before midnight.
I checked out at 6:00am on March 12 and I explained my situation to the two associates at the front desk. They were completely professional, kind, and understanding. They charged me for the one night and cancelled the remainder of my stay. They gave me a printed invoice reflecting the same. And insured me that I would not have to pay any early check out penalty due to the entirely uncontrollable situation, effecting nearly every country.
Later that day, I received an missed call from the hotel with no message. I called the number back and reached the front desk manager. He immediately started with sarcasm of wondering why my room was empty (of course he was well aware that I needed to return to the US). Then he informed me that I would be responsible for the whole stay, immediately began numerating all of the charges, asking if I had anything out of the minibar, and went as far as to state he was going to re-charge the amount I had already paid early that morning!
I tried to have a discussion with him, to inform him of the particular situation off US citizens were challenged with, and that I had already settled my account with his colleagues who reiterated to me that due to the extraordinary situation, I would not be required to pay anything else. His response was "I don't care what the situation is and my associates were wrong and have no such authority, only do I." Seeing that his attitude had rapidly advanced from sarcasm to ridicule to anger, and, he continuously talked over and dismissed all of my information, I asked to speak to his superior, who he stated was the Revenue Manager, and the stated, "You can write or call whoever you want, that will not change anything" and, that "I will pay a high price."
I have contacted not only my credit card company to dispute the charge but also have contacted the Berlin Landespol

Good stay!

It was a nice weekend in Berlin and a hotel is really cute with old fashion twist. The only thing that wasn’t a pleasant it was a smell in the lobby from cigar bar. We were really happy that there wasn’t smelly in the room though.

Dear Guest,
thank you very much for your feedback! We are greatly appreciate your comments of the charme at our Petit Grand Hotel. The Times Bar is a part of that and we are already trying to get the smell of smoke under control. We are exceedingly happy that you were our guests. It would be such a pleasure to personally welcome you back to our hotel.
With much appreciation
Ms. Ariane
