As a hotel, not a borderline case at all!

Excellent location for public transport travelers: Four tram stops from the main train station, the stop is just a few steps from the hotel. Friendly reception, large rooms with everything you need, quietly located. A big plus is the huge garden (4000m2) with cool spots and water features. The breakfast buffet is quite good, although the thermos for the coffee is no longer quite up to date - a good self-service coffee machine would be a big win... But even there, the service is friendly and the guest does not even notice that staff works here who might not find employment elsewhere (inclusion hotel). In addition, the hotel charges very moderate prices. I have been there several times and would love to come back.

Clean, good size room with nice garden view. No luxury, stick to basic but color scheme is so pleasing. All people I came across, including front office, housekeepers, restaurant staff, were polite and helpful. Half of them don’t speak English but their helpfulness shown outwardly. They should emphasize that the hotel is just adjacent to the Wall Memorial, with street car stops in 50 meters. The best kept secret is the restaurant, the decor will please everyone with a nice private garden outside the floor to ceiling glass wall. Was an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

Jo! Here we like to come back

We felt very welcome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and clean. Breakfast was good and there was also filter coffee and not just coffee crema from the vending machine. Thank you, it was nice with you.

I booked a Classic Triple Room more than two months in advance. I was given a wheelchair-accessible room instead. I asked for another room and was then offered a Double Room. I accepted it, but I made it known that I was not pleased. I paid for a Queen bed, yet I slept on a Double. I wouldn't book this hotel again.

The Worst Experience Ever! Absolutely DO NOT STAY HERE, especially if you are a woman or Asian. This hotel is unsafe and extreme

I have traveled to many countries and stayed in various hotels and accommodations, but this was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had. I was stolen from at this hotel and even insulted by a female staff member. They offered no apology for their mistakes.
*****First, this hotel is not safe. It is especially dangerous for women.
Male cleaning staff opened our door using a master key early in the morning. My mom was in the middle of changing clothes, and we were both utterly shocked and terrified. These hotel rooms do not have a reliable inside locking mechanism; the only one on the door was a broken, useless latch – anyone with a master key can enter without permission.
*****Second, my belongings were stolen at this hotel.
On the same day, a second male cleaner used a master key to enter our room again. I rushed out and firmly told him not to clean the room today. I even hung the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door when we left. However, a staff member later claimed the card was flipped over and cleaned the room anyway. The cleaning was also suspicious. The cleaner left the room window wide open, letting bugs fly in, and removed clean wine glasses that we had washed with detergent. That night, I discovered that some of my belongings were missing.
The whole situation that happened that day was so weird. I spent three hours frantically packing and unpacking all our bags, just in case the items were misplaced, even though I was absolutely sure I had left them on the table. But when I found that the clothes I was wearing on the day I arrived at this hotel were missing, I realized it was indeed a theft.
*****Third, the hotel staff does not respect guests. I experienced blatant racial discrimination from a female employee.
When I demanded that she call the police regarding the theft, she told me to call them myself or go to the police station. She also said she didn't know when the police would come and insisted this was not an emergency. (Contrary to her statement that the police would take a long time to arrive, the German police arrived very quickly) When I strongly repeated that it was an emergency, she yelled "SHUT UP" at me. In all my years of traveling and staying in hotels, I have never heard such a thing or received such treatment. I have never experienced such terrible service. There was another white male guest present. I felt deeply humiliated. Could she possibly have yelled "SHUT UP" at that white man? I believe this is racial discrimination.
THIS HOTEL COMPLETELY RUINED MY TRIP!!!!
I didn't have enough time because I noticed my belongings were missing just one day before check-out. I had a plan for my last day in Berlin, but I canceled all the plans and was extremely stressed.
I couldn't sleep at all the night. I immediately reported the theft to the male receptionist at 1 AM, but he couldn't speak a word of English. He told me to wait until 7 AM the next day. So, sleepless, I went to the reception at 7 AM to meet the English-speaking staff. She (identified as M) then told me she couldn't do anything until the cleaning staff arrived at 9:30 AM. I waited again and went to the reception at 9:30 AM. She said the cleaning staff denied taking anything and accused me by asking if I was sure about the theft. I was absolutely certain. She offered not a single apology for the hotel theft or for yelling "SHUT UP" at me. Instead, she laughed loudly with the male cleaner in German right in front of me. Is it even possible for a hotel staff member to laugh in front of a guest who is in despair after being stolen from the hotel? When I asked to check the CCTV, she said the hotel had none.
*****Nobody is responsible for your safety at this hotel. If you do not want to test your luck, I advise against staying here. Especially if you are an Asian woman, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT stay here!!! There are definitely better options in Berlin. This hotel completely ruined my trip. This was my third visit to Germany, but I no longer wish to visit again. Anyway I hope any Asian guests do not have this kinda of bad experience.
(I booked through Hotels.com, and it was very difficult to contact their customer service. That's why I am writing this review here.)
