Very close to Sick Kids

Very spacious flat near Sick Kids hospital. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and even had measuring cups! Very clean. We opted for an optional cleaning service every week and Barbara and her team were great !

Horrible, Dirty,Falling apart, dangerous

This is not a hotel yet it advertised as one
The room was in horrid shape, broken windows all over, cardboard taped over broken windows, tape was holding the walls together and in very bad shape, looked like a huge Rave/house party had taken place and left that way Everything was damaged and broken
Room was definitely not cleaned to a hotel standard.
Half used bottles of shampoo and soap in bathroom, blinds were broken and fallen to the floor. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Overpriced, horrible upkeep, dirty.

Reservation cancelled unexpectedly

My wife is suffering from Stage 4 Liver cancer, and as such once a month we need to make a six hour drive to Toronto for her to receive her clinical drugs. Since March, we have been staying at the Canada Suite location on Bay St. My wife really liked it there because it was close to hospital. And for the most part we have been pleased with until recently. Six days before we were to come for our Sept. trip, I received an email from Canada Suites saying they needed to cancel my reservation because the landlord wants to take possession of all their rental units as of Sept. 01. I should point out that I had paid in full for my suite months in advance. Needless to say this cancellation only a few days before we were to arrive caused undue extra anxiety for my wife and I, as we needed to find accomodation elsewhere in a short period of time.
I called my rep. at Canada Suites to inquire about what happened and he basically cut me off saying he had to take another call and he never did return my call back to me.
It doesn't make sense that Canada Suites and the landlord would not have some kind of contractual agreement in place that would require an advance notice of a number of months from the landlord to say that they wanted their units back. I am always told by Canada Suites that just how busy they were and that many of their suites are rented out months in advance. So I am sure I am not the only one who were left out hanging . Not acceptable at all.

Staff lies, no Pool

We choose this for our spring break trip since our kids wanted to use the pool. The pool was advertised. On check in the staff mentioned there was no lifeguard and we would have to take our own towels to the pool, indicating the pool was open. After we found that the pool was closed, there was a sign "Pool Temporarily Closed" we contacted the staff... (Note this is not a hotel, it is a residential apartment building, so the people you book with are just renting rooms here, for you to use.) They told us the pool would open the next day. The pool wasn't open again. They said it was being refilled and would open the next day. Of course the next day, there was still no pool. They said it needed to warm up and would open the next day... You get the picture. There was no pool during our stay, and residents we talked to laughed that the pool is almost always closed. The room was okay, but I can't get over the staff leading us on, in order for us not to change to a real hotel. We had to hear our kids cry that they wanted to goto the pool our entire stay.

We apologize that the pool was temporarily closed during your stay with us. Building pool is a building amenity and unfortunately sometimes circumstances beyond our controls arise and buildings amenities are closed by the building without prior notice.
We regret to hear that this happened during your stay with us, but our records indicate that you were given FREE unlimited use pass for 6 people to a nearby state of the art Health Club with 2 indoor pools. At the time you received the pass you said that it was a "Fantastic Gift" to our associate who delivered it to you.

Canada Suites

Huge two bedroom unit, washing machine, dishwasher etc, ideal for self catering.
About a 3-4 block walk to restaurants and shops. about a 4-5 block walk to main parts of town.
Good public transport
Checking in we had to wait a while but our flight arrived before midday so to be expected, the guy that came to give us the key was very helpful.
Small Grocery store that seemed to have everything just beside the entry.
