Newly Found Unexpected Treasure
On a previous trip to Athens, we had dinner at Strofi Restaurant, and the unforgettable rooftop views of the Acropolis immediately caught our attention. We later realized that the terrace at Acropolis View Hotel offers an almost identical perspective—arguably the most photogenic side of the Parthenon. Combined with its location just steps from Apostolou Pavlou, the beautiful pedestrian promenade that circles the Acropolis toward Thiseio, the decision to stay here became an easy one.
My family and I typically stay in 4- and 5-star properties, so we arrived with fairly high expectations. I’m happy to say that Acropolis View Hotel exceeded them in nearly every way that mattered.
Check-in was seamless, and the professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency of the reception staff immediately set a welcoming tone. The chilled flavored water and traditional Greek cookies offered upon arrival were thoughtful, unexpected touches that made a wonderful first impression.
The location proved even more convenient than anticipated. The quiet street offered a peaceful setting while still being within about a 10-minute walk of Acropoli Metro Station, making it incredibly easy to take spontaneous trips around the city without much planning.
Breakfast, served in the enclosed, air-conditioned section of the rooftop terrace, included all the essentials. While the selection wasn’t extensive, everything was fresh and satisfying, and the setting more than made up for the modest variety.
Our room was spotless, surprisingly well-designed, and offered more storage space than we expected. The small private balcony became one of our favorite features—a perfect place to unwind in the evening after exploring Athens.
In the end, every essential aspect of the property—service, cleanliness, comfort, location, and overall experience—was better than we expected. Acropolis View Hotel delivered outstanding value, and we would gladly recommend it without hesitation. We certainly wouldn’t think twice about staying here again on a future visit to Athens.

A great hotel in Athens
What a nice hotel. Exceptionally clean. A staff that provides superb service. Air conditioned comfort. Short walking distance to the Acropolis. A short walk to several good restaurants. I would not stay anywhere else in Athens.

Acropolis View Hotel July 2026
I actually stayed here twice; before and after a Greek Island cruise.
Have to admit that when I arrived I wasn't impressed... until I stepped inside. The lobby has a full bar, I believe it is 24 x 7. I spotted some pastries and peach tea and knew I would be fine.
Every single person who worked at the desk was fabulous. Well informed, happy to help, all went above and beyond. Directions to a restaurant that was a neighborhood gem and not touristy.... check. Could they call the number for my driver and confirm a pick up the next morning.....check.
When I got back from dinner (and it did not disappoint ... Kalamaki and Onos, both an easy walk from the hotel) my luggage had been delivered to my room. It was a no frills room, not large, but it had absolutely everything I needed, and an amazing view of the Acropolis. I felt safe, and slept very well.
My last day there was a busy Saturday and I intended to stay in and rest before my early morning flight the next day. I fell in love with the amazing rooftop breakfast and view of the Acropolis. After breakfast I grabbed my backpack and went out for one more adventure. I walked around the Acropolis and unfortunately encountered a pickpocket who helped himself to my wallet. I had forgotten that I had everything in my backpack instead of the room safe, in anticipation of my early morning flight the next day.
I can't put into words how kind and helpful EVERY SINGLE PERSON at the front desk was to me. I sat in the lobby and cancelled all my credit and debit cards, they kept checking on me to see if I needed any help. They brought me a drink on the house, and even with the shift changes, they continued to check on me and make sure I was ok and had everything I needed. They told me to order dinner from the neighborhood and have it delivered and they would pay for it. Fratti Bistro was the neighborhood place that I fell in love with, ate there twice (thanks to Apple Pay and my American Express card in my Apple Wallet!!). And it's a small place, everyone seemed to know what had happened to me (and my wallet) and expressed deep concern for me. I felt like I was in a true neighborhood bar, with GREAT food!
The next morning the folks at the hotel had arranged for the rooftop breakfast to start 10 minutes early so I would have time to eat before my driver arrived. This is what Excellent customer service is all about.

Aptly named hotel--close to the Acropolis
The name of this hotel is 100% accurate--we did indeed have a direct view of the Acropolis from our balcony. The ruins and the associated museum were only a 10-min walk away and we were right in the heart of Plaka. The hotel had a rooftop terrace which was also where breakfast was served. At night we would grab a drink from the bar in the lobby and sit at the terrace to be in awe of the Acropolis. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The ladies serving breakfast were kind and thoughtful. The room was comfortable and quiet. If I were to ever return to Athens, this would be where I would stay again.

I highly recommend this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. My room was clean and the air conditioning was very good. The hotel is very close to the Acropolis and some good restaurants. The buffet breakfast is good; but the best part of staying at this hotel is the fabulous view of the Acropolis from the rooftop of the hotel. Whether eating breakfast or watching the sunset at the rooftop, this location is one of the best places to take pictures of the entire Acropolis.
