Interesting stay

Had a 2 nights stay for work. Was given a connecting room at the 18th floor with an amazing view of Adelaide. Hotel was a classic. The atmosphere had me traveled back in the early 2000 and late 90’s. Not much of noise issue of trams. As i was at the upper level. Was lucky that my room was big. Huge tv, coffee machine, branded amenities byredo. Location is in the city itself next to the train station. Walking distance to shopping area. Adelaide plaza arcade. Cleanliness was good. Despite maintains the old design of the bathroom but the downsize was my shower was running slow.

We stayed the night we got married and was so surprised that when we got back to our room there was a bottle of sparkling wine left chilled on ice from the hotel. The room although dated was large, clean and had great views of the Torrens River. Its in the heart of the city, so close to everything. The breakfast was sufficient but the table wasn't cleared of dirty dishes and the staff didn't come around to see if we wanted further cups of coffee/tea. That was our only complaint. All in all a lovely stay.

Classic hotel however, we had a very dated room. Amazing buffet breakfast, enough of everything to suit anyone.

Power. Point where coffee machine was situated did not work
Bedside phone did not work at all
I attempted to ring room service, concierge and front desk for a tea bag Phone rang out . No answer . I just wonder what would have happened if I had pushed the emergency phone button
Went to Atrium myself to collect teabags.

CHOOSE YOUR ROOM WITH CAUTION

Travelling as a couple and were given an interconnecting room (door connecting) with family and young crying baby . Unable to sleep and I went to front desk to make a complaint. The staff said I should have requested a NON interconnecting room! Offered a move to a quiet NON interconnecting room which I was not prepared to move into in the middle of the night. The obvious question is…….. why was that room not allocated to us initially????
The hotel is shabby and needs refurbishment but along with the room allocation attitude best to spend your money elsewhere at another hotel.
