If you’re heading to Budapest and want a stay that’s fun, stylish, and right in the center of everything, then look no further than Avenue Hostel. This place truly captures the soul of the city — laid-back, social, and effortlessly cool.
Located right on Andrássy Avenue, one of Budapest’s most beautiful boulevards, the hostel is just steps from the metro, trendy cafés, and some of the best nightlife in town. You can literally walk to the Hungarian State Opera or hop on a tram to the Danube River in minutes.
The vibe here is what really makes it special. The common areas are bright, modern, and always buzzing — it’s the kind of place where you meet travelers from all over the world without even trying. The free breakfast (yes, FREE!) is a great way to start the day, and the staff are super friendly and full of local tips that go way beyond the guidebooks.
The dorms are clean and comfortable, with curtains for privacy, individual outlets, and lockers for your stuff. If you’re craving a bit more comfort, the private rooms are surprisingly spacious and perfect for couples or friends traveling together.

Everything! The staff Eszter deserves a raise. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. The weekly/daily activities are great. This is the first time I have been in an hostel that is like a home. The breakfast, lovely. The free shots during games. The free tour activities, the extra favors you get compared to other places is dope. The only downside is the smell in the rooms due to long stay of guest and the windows are not opened. The proximity to the city center as well as all mode of transportation is lovely. I will definitely visit again. Thank you Avenue hostel for looking after your guest. The place is never empty. I was sad leaving cos I made few friends including Eszter. Avenue is 100% and I enjoyed Budapest as a whole. Bathroom was cleaned daily and everything was provided for including private or public kitchens were you can cook whatever you wanna eat.

Worst I've ever been through! Would not recommend my worst enemy o stay here
Worst experience I've ever had! Very nice breakfast. All guests would hand wash themselves and never seen grayer eggs…. Had booked 4 nights for over 30 people and after the second night we get without any notice thrown out and without home in Budapest. Was no reasonable reason why we were thrown out and felt like they just did so that we could then rent to new guests and earn double money… we do not get any compensation or help with new accommodation either. Can talk about finding new accommodation for 30+ people is not easy on a Saturday night in Budapest and when we just briefly called again for o explain the situation o that we had nowhere to stay, they just said they already rented out our beds to new guests?!?
