Very good hotel in Kiev at a reasonable price
I stayed there for two nights in their economy single room. Since it was an economy room, it was quite small (11 m2), but that's what I booked. The room was clean and equipped with minibar, flat screen TV, free wifi etc. The bathroom was clean and everything worked fine. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in Kiev

Nice place, helpful service
Nice hotel and friendly staff, but be aware that if you decide to take an apple or anything from the breakfast table with you there are fines for that. And the breakfast room is well equipped with cameras.

Modern, functional, efficient and welcoming.
I stayed here for 5 days in June 2018. The hotel had then been open some 9 months.
I had a standard double room, which was on the small side, but had everything I needed as a bolt hole for my business trip, including desk and wifi.
The reception staff are young, experienced, efficient, well chosen and bright, and speak very good English - not everyone in this city does. The room was comfortable and the wifi always good.
There was good and quiet air-con. All the fittings were new and worked well. My room though had a safe that was not well bolted to the wall and this was not fixed during my stay.
The staff were were very all very good and friendly and able to offer me some "office service" - printing, travel bookings etc - promptly and capably and "nothing is too much trouble". There were some other business travellers staying here.
Podil is a residential district which is tree-lined and quiet. The same road as the Mackintosh has the Spanish Embassy, and nearby is the Chernobyl Museum.
I was recommended an excellent restaurant on a barge on the Dnieper called Khutorets within walking distance. A must visit. Another must see is Pechersk Lavra.
Everything in Kiev is excellent value.
The breakfast at the hotel has a choice of hot and cold food, served in the basement.
As at June 2018 there were no facilities to eat at other times other than small bar snacks, and no room service. I expect this might be inconvenient in the middle of winter, when temperatures can be for a while less than -10C in the daytime. There is no gym, and it is difficult to get into a gym temporarily in Kiev at all (only a handful of major hotels in the entire city have a gym).
For me, this hotel was outstanding value for money.
I would definitely stay there again.

not shiny but very convenient and great staff
I stayed in October 3 nights there. The staff is extraordinary nice and helpful! They speak English, German, French etc. and are equally nice in all the different languages.
The breakfast buffet has all the things you usually expect and additional extra bakery that changes from day to day and tastes like freshly made. The coffee is also nice.
The rooms are very clean and nice, no design just simple but completely sufficient.
The position is very convenient too. You can walk to the center and it is safe at night. Additionally the hotel and the rooms are really quiet.

Not what we expected
The hotel has a good location in Podil and overall friendly staff. But there are a couple of things which would not make me returning: First of all the the quality of bed and matracess I really bad, not for heavy people or the ones having back problem. The smelly "restaurant" is located in the basement - no natural light at all. The breakfast quality is poor but great kitchen staff. When we came home during night the main entrane door in a really dark district was not locked and nobody could be found at reception. This I found really a security issue in a city like Kiev.
