Wonderful city hotel
Really enjoyed my stay here, and would highly recommend.
The hotel is well located for most people, right by the Hauptbahnhof if you’re coming from the airport on the S-Bahn. As it was summer, I spent the weekend strolling and cycling pretty much anywhere I wanted to go.
The room was great and spacious. The breakfast was broad and better than some. Service across the board was high quality.
I booked through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts, and note this because the treatment was particularly good - immediate noting of the credit, explaining what it could be used for, and upgrading to the next room category.
Didn’t get a chance to use the spa so can’t comment on that. Next time!

Excellent location and amazing property. Stayed with my family in a junior sweet. Well worth it and unbelievable close to the train station.

Beautiful hotel! Walkable to old Munich. Pool was very nice, but not necessarily kid-friendly. Parking easy. Staff were kind and responsive.

Excellent Staff and Location, but the Hotel Needs Serious Renovation
We stayed at the Sofitel Munich for three nights, and unfortunately, I expected much more from a hotel of this standard and reputation.
Our duplex suite felt extremely dated and was clearly in need of serious renovation and maintenance. There was visible mold in the bathrooms, the beds were in very poor condition and sloped downwards, making them uncomfortable to sleep on, and the air-conditioning filters were noticeably dusty and appeared to require proper cleaning and maintenance.
On the positive side, the staff were excellent—professional, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was superb, with a great selection, and the hotel’s location is extremely convenient.
Unfortunately, the condition of the suite significantly affected our overall experience. For a Sofitel and considering the level of accommodation we booked, we simply expected much better. Despite the excellent staff, breakfast, and location, this is sadly a hotel my family and I would not choose to stay at again.
