Great urban space. Very modern and clean. Well laid out so it doesn't feel small. We had 2 boys and the loft was perfect for them.

Awful hosts and gained access without our permission

We have had an awful time at CURT Suites in Berlin. We went to the apartment late on the Friday night due to the fact that our plane was delayed by 10 hours because there was black ice at Berlin Airport (we were due to arrive in Berlin airport at 9.35am but eventually arrived at 7.40pm). We arrived at the apartment and used the access that was provided to us which was “Penthouse: Littenstraße 105, 10179 Berlin — Entrance code: ####”. In the same correspondence we had an alternative address and because no specific room/apartment was indicated we presumed that it was the location for accessing the Luggage Storeroom that we were told we could use as we presumed we would be arriving at the apartment well before the 3pm check in (Cozy, Comfy & Spacious Apartments: Littenstraße 107, 10179 Berlin — Entrance code: #####). We went to the Penthouse at Littenstraße 105 and went to the very top floor. When we got there, I used the code that we used to access the building to open the Fob Box, but it did not open. Because of this I then rang Curt Apartments using the number they provided in the order confirm email (+49 30 ********). When I rang the number, a woman answered (I cannot remember the name, but I think it was Sophie or Sonia) and she said that I had to go through a check in process online to get the automated digital access. I then went to the link in the email and did what it asked (remember we had been 10 hours waiting on a plane, we were tired, hungry and arriving at an apartment late in the night with dangerous road conditions and all we wanted was just to get access to the apartment). I saw no number for to access the Fob so I rang the lady again and she said that there was a button on the digital link which when you pushed it to the right would open the door. I found the button on the digital link but every time I pushed it nothing happened. I yet again had to ring her (remember my phone was down to its lowest battery life due to all the waiting at the airport and to talk to this woman I had to walk down 6 flights of stairs, go out into the street so that I could access this digital fob as there was no web access on the 6th floor. Pease consider this was what I had to do 3 times in a row so that I could talk to her and access the internet). I told her the digital access was not working and asked her for the number to the lock box where the fob was. She gave me a number and I tried it but it did not work (remember I had been up and down 6 flights 3 times and now feeling like we would have to ring a hotel and book in as the whole thing looked to be a complete fiasco – BTW my daughter did contact the Radisson Hotel and was about to book them and abandon staying at CURT Suites and the cost would have been €700 for the two nights. She was willing to pay the full cost due to the completely shambolic way that we were being treated by CURT Suites). The lady on the phone went away to check the number and the second number worked so we did manage to access the apartment (keep this in mind that the initial number was wrong and the second number worked so why did the first number not work and why did the second number work. When they gave us the second number they knew we were accessing the Penthouse Apartment as each number is tagged to an apartment). When we got into the apartment we knew something was not right as the layout was not the same as was advertised via Airbnb but we were tired and just wanted to rest. We found the apartment cold and I turned on the radiators to warm it up, but they only warmed to a third of the full radiator size so the apartment never warmed up fully. We then tried to make the beds and found that all they provided were single bed duvets even though the rooms had queen size beds, so queen sized duvets were required). We sent Curt Suites a message about the radiators that night and decided to put up with the coldness and lack of proper duvets as all we wanted to do was go to bed and rest (BTW the message service just sent back a WhatsApp to say that it was unavailable till 7am the next morning). I checked my messages on WhatsApp on the Saturday morning and found they had come back to me. They offered advise on how to get the Radiators to work (I spent ages texting them and proving that what they were advising did not work) but eventually they said someone would be over to fix the radiators. I asked about the single duvets and was told that the custom in Berlin was to use single duvets on double beds. I checked this out with the Radisson Hotel, and they said all their double beds had double duvets. I told this to Curt Suites, and they said that it was their policy to only supply single duvets (something not stated by them when I initially booked and asked them about the beds). My wife found that the shower head on the handheld main shower was leaking and spraying everywhere so I asked Curt Suites to fix that along with the radiators. We decided to leave the apartment to explore and presumed that Curt Suites would send someone over to fix the Radiators and the shower head. We came back at approx. 9.30pm that night to find that the apartment was still cold and that the shower head was still broken. What had changed was that our belongings were moved to the sitting room and that the main bed had been set up for new guests. My wife was very concerned as Curt Suites had entered our apartment without our permission, moved our belongings and had not fixed the radiator or the shower head. She immediately contacted Curt Suites by phone and a “Frederick” answered. He acknowledged that they had been in our apartment as the staff were there to prepare it for another guest as they had made a mistake by giving us the apartment and did not realise we were there until the staff started moving our things. They had instructed the staff to stop moving things and provided alternative accommodation to the other guests who were booked into the Penthouse. We felt violated by the intrusion into our apartment as it was tantamount to entering someone’s home without permission. We pointed this out to Frederick and he was to come back to us on the Sunday to confirm what they would do to make up for what had happened. On the Sunday we as requested vacated before 11am. We then tried to access the Luggage Room at Littenstraße 107 and eventually got access to it using the digital key. We then went exploring again and eventually boarded our plane at 7.30pm to go home (remember the phone call from Frederick that was to happen, never happened). On the Monday I contacted Curt Suites via WhatsApp and they denied that there were any issues, they even denied moving things and had the audacity to say someone had visited the apartment to fix the shower head but it was I who actually fixed the shower head not anyone who illegally entered the apartment. Curt Suites then went on to say that I should contact Airbnb and register a complaint. I did this but Airbnb did nothing and did not even register on their website that I made a complaint. Airbnb are shielding the host and do not stand up for the renter. Do not book with Curt Suites and be wary of booking anything via Airbnb.

Charming and very good

Nice apartment, fine to do with four people. Just what you need. Very clean. Only very warm, just open a window. Location near alexanderplatz and metro.

A bit underwhelming. No welcome drink (as advertised), no rooftop terrace (as advertised), cheap and uncomfortable pillows, foggy windows which was impossible to see through and bad lighting (very dark at night).

Great location - however the space is a bit tight for 2 adults and 2 kids.
