Enjoyed our stay. Accommodation was in a great location with plenty of meal options and shopping just steps away. We walked everywhere. The bed was comfy and it was a good size room that was quiet.

Hospital required stay... Left disappointed

We had to find a place to stay while a loved one had open heart surgery at st Michael's hospital. Places were limited but this place was close. We expected more however from a place that claims to be nice suites at $500 a night (the hospital rate if you can imagine). The rooms are outdated and need serious updating. The sofa bed was old and frayed. Tables had scratches on the corners and looked old. The shower was okay but with curtains that were way too long and dirty at the bottom. The faucet was nearly coming off the wall. We had housekeeping come in 1 time which is a sad trend in hotels these days. We had to ask for more tissue and such. And for the price per night why is breakfast extra money?? The only positive seems to be the bed was comfortable and we were very close walking distance to the hospital. I definitely would not recommend staying here. It needs some serious upgrading for money they are making.

Overpriced Average Hotel

We stayed at the Cambridge Suites on a random Tuesday. As I’m sure you know, hotel prices in Toronto have gone through the roof lately and the price we paid, including parking, was over $500. This hotel did not match up with the cost.
Let’s start with the positives. The location was great for walking around. The room was quite spacious with lots of windows. The complimentary coffee was tasty and they had enough cream & sugar for multiple cups. We were offered a free buffet breakfast but we didn’t get to try it as it ended at 9:30 and we weren’t up in time. The bed was very comfortable with nice soft sheets. Every person we interacted with was lovely and friendly.
Now for the negatives. The bathroom was not good. It wasn’t as clean as I would like, the shower pressure was weak and the water temperature wasn’t consistent. I got quite scalded at one point and no matter what I did, couldn’t get the water any cooler. I just had to wait it out. Toilet paper and tissues were one ply. That’s never good. There were some areas of the walls where they were in need of refurbishment. Wood was split apart at the seams, stains and things of that nature. The entire bathroom could use a full renovation. There was construction going on in the underground parking and the entire garage had a very strong and unpleasant odour. Even the elevator to get to the parking smelled bad. Lastly, there wasn’t a bar to grab a drink on arrival. The restaurant was only open for breakfast.
My general feeling about this hotel is that if the price was lower, it would be a good budget option but I would never pay $500 to stay here again. The amenities weren’t up to par with the price and the bathroom needs a reno. This is clearly a $300/night max type of hotel.

Please accept my deepest apologies for the issues you encountered in the bathroom. Please also know that we are actively addressing the unpleasant odors in our underground garage and elevators. Unfortunately, there are no current plans to open the bar at the moment. The breakfast staff were very nice, the front counter staff was just ok, busy but they could have been friendlier. The room was ok however we did have hair still in the bathroom. The hot tub was dirty and slummy, the bubbles created a slim on the tub.

Beware if you book a discounted rate - you may not have a working shower/bath

I booked this hotel for its convenience to St. Michael’s Hospital. My spouse had undergone open heart surgery and I had an early morning appointment with the medical team. The room was dated and well worn. I wouldn’t say it was spotless but it was not filthy either. The next day I tried to have a shower and shower faucet did not work, I could not even get water for a bath. I did not call maintenance due to time restraints. I advised to the front desk staff when I checked out how disappointed I was. The gentleman tried to explain to me how the shower faucet worked. I mentioned that I had the same one at home and the one in the room was broken. He said there would be no charge. I waited 5 days and no refund. I sent a message to the Hotel and have yet to hear back. I had booked the room through Expedia. I contacted them and the customer service agent was very helpful. She got in touch with the hotel and the reply back was “ because I had booked a discounted rate there was nothing the hotel could do.” I paid $ 444.16 for a room for just one person and no shower. I wonder if this would be considered a public health issue. I would not recommend this hotel as it is in serious need of upgrading.
