Good Stay Overall
We had a good stay at Empire Suites in Montreal. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay and we were happy with our experience.
The biggest issue was the elevator. It was quite slow and very bumpy at times, which honestly made it a little scary to ride.
Breakfast is offered, which is a nice bonus, but unfortunately it was very difficult to actually get anything. The breakfast area was extremely busy, and the food wasn’t replenished often enough. We went back a few different times hoping things would be restocked, but each time it was pretty much the same situation. They definitely need to do a better job keeping up with the breakfast during busy periods.
Despite those issues, we enjoyed our stay and would still give Empire Suites 4 stars. With some improvements to the elevator and breakfast service, it could be an even better experience.

Terrible accommodation

"I checked into Empire Suites on August 10, 2026 The room provided was in extremely poor condition, but most critically, it contained a severe, active bedbug infestation on the mattress and bedding.
When I alerted reception, staff refused to inspect the room, offer a room change, or provide a manager to address the situation. Due to these uninhabitable and unsafe health conditions, I was forced to vacate the hotel immediately.
I have documented the infestation with clear photographic evidence and have formally reported this establishment to the City of Montréal Hygiene and Sanitation Division as well as the Quebec Consumer Protection Bureau (OPC).
While I successfully recovered my security deposit after a difficult dispute at checkout, the hotel and Booking.com have failed to provide a refund for the pre-paid stay, despite the room being unfit for human occupancy. I strongly advise travelers to avoid this property due to serious sanitation and management concerns."

The room was at best a motel. It’s old and run down. It was our only option on a busy weekend. If you’re on a budget it’s not the worst option. But if you can afford something better, I wouldn’t stay here.

They actually gave me a room with no AC working and didn’t want to do anything about the $500/night price. Walked to the lobby and guess what? AC was working there lol.
What a joke. Not staying here ever again if I can help it. They should change the name from empire suites to empty suits lol

Front desk staff are rude and speak in Arabic behind your back right in front of your face. You need more customer service training.
Great location! Close to metro and lots amenities.
