Amazing stay! The Student Hotel and Hostel is on the main road, and easy to catch buses throughout Reykjavik (tip: buy a city card -- included are museums which are fab for rainy days, and also the ferry to Videy (charming island) and buses during the length of your pass). Room was spotless and comfortable: super white bedding. Bathrooms were well maintained, as well as the communal kitchen and common area. Staff friendly and other travelers interesting.

We enjoyed our stay at the Student Hostel. The location was excellent, it was near the bus terminal and downtown. Our beds were very comfortable and the room had lots of cabinets for keeping things organized. Also the sink in the room was helpful. There weren’t any extras like shampoo or soap, and coffee had to be purchased. There weren’t any grocery stores within walking distance.

This hostile was perfectly located in downtown Reykjavik. It is also right next to a bus stop. AND 3 minutes away from the BSI Bus Terminal where one rides FlyBus to and from airport. SUPER CLEAN! Highly recommend upgrading to private bathroom — way worth it!

Friendly staff were very helpful. And social spaces, like the kitchen and the commons room, were excellent. However, the room was very rudimentary, with no amenities at all, and it smelled of bathroom odors, probably from sewage. If you do not expect too much, you will be satisfied with this hostel, especially considering the high prices of other alternatives. Still, it would be better if they provided customers with amenities and a clean room.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Accommodations were nice. Would have liked to stay longer.
