Great

It was great. very nice, good location. wifi could have been a little better but for the price it was nice. I would 100% stay again. Clean, lots of space and much better then staying in a hotel.

Very ambiguous impression...

At first glance the apartment looks very pretty and well decorated. But this booking leaves a very ambiguous impression. Although I booked and received confirmation of an apartment at the Frakkastigur in the immediate vicinity of Halgrimskirka more than 6 months ago, I am rebooked two days before arrival to another one quite far from the center at Vesturgade near the port. The corresponding inquiry with the landlord is only answered after repeated follow-up and even then only very snidely via the message service of Hotel.com and on my inquiry regarding the parking of my motorcycle I also do not receive any useful information.
There are also some question marks over cleanliness and hygiene. The bathroom still had traces of the previous tenants and the bed linen was also not cleaned sufficiently, as clearly visible traces of blood were visible on the pillow. The whole thing seems quite unprofessional.

Incorrect room allocation and noisy apartment at a convenient location. Be careful prior to booking

The biggest disappointment was that I was given a smaller room then what I had booked. When i entered the room i immediately called the Grey Apartments team and their first reaction as to deny that the room was the wrong one. After a bit of arguing they accepted that they had made a mistake and given me a smaller room that was on a lower floor and offered to refund me 40% of what i had paid. The refund did come through but unfortunately a refund does not compensate for the sleepless and disturbed nights i experienced.
Now the reason i had picked the room on the topmost floor was because i had seen reviews about noise from the street and from upper floors (if one is on a lower floor) so i booked the topmost floor for this reason. By giving me a lower floor i experienced disturbed sleep due to both street noise and from people on the floor above walking. The Grey Apartments team also blamed Booking.com for the incorrect images and for the mess up in the booking but i counter argued that the images on booking.com are uploaded by them and they should change them to reflect the correct rooms.
The Grey Apartments team needs to be truthful in how they describe the rooms and also how noisy the rooms are from both street noise but also from the rooms above. They should improve on sound proofing between the floors as its not right to offer apartments on rental when one is aware of the problems with the apartment.
The kitchen was also poorly kitted, with minimal cutlery and crockery and they need to definitely add more items to make it realistic for someone to cook in the kitchen
Overall, i would NOT recommend others to book this place unless you are desperate and until they improve on soundproofing and also upload the correct images on booking.com so that guests have a correct information prior to making a booking.

Magical few days in Reykjavík

Feb 1st -Feb 4th
Just back from this fantastic property . It was ideally located for our needs.
We arrived early and emailed to ask for early check in which was no problem at all .
It’s a beautiful apartment fully equipped for two people . Loved the decor . It’s warm and cozy and spotless!! Free WiFi access. There’s extra bedding in a compartment in the sofa all this was explained to us via email and dealing with the owner was a pleasure and alway a prompt response.
The only negative and (it’s not the owners fault), we were in 102 so the apartment up over us they were very noisy so do bring ear plugs with you .
Would we stay here again ? Absolutely 100%

Fantastic location

We visited in February stayed in 101, there was a mix up with our booking as we had booked twin beds, host could not move us till next day but communication was fantastic, both this and the other apartments are brilliantly located and I would not hesitate to stay again. It was a little noisy with passing pedestrians but nothing ear plugs would not solve and bathroom was massive. Tv has no TV channels but has netflix, amazon and you tube
