Bargain for the mid week traveller!

I had to book a last minute hotel in Dublin on a Thursday night. Checked a few of the more budget mid week options and though some of the older reviews of the Abbey made me cautious the more recent one made it sound better than the competition. As it was last minute the only room left was a triple room with three single beds, which was fine for me.
I was pretty impressed by the site overall, The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable, there was a lift and a receptionist onsite. The décor in the room was modern and unobtrusive and the bathroom spotless with a large walk in shower and fan heater.
I didn't have any issues with noise from the street (I think I went to bed about 11:30 and slept through soundly (I was facing the front of the hotel). My only minor complaint was that the lead from the kettle didn't reach the power point near it, so I had to improvise and put it on top of the coffee maker (I don't drink coffee and it was 7am and too early to figure out how to use it).
The hotel is right in the centre of town, just a block away from the Liffey and from there Temple Bar and a lot of the sites. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby which open quite early and the street felt fine to be on until quite late.

Great hotel

Hotel right in the center of Dublin, great location. Cozy and very good. I really liked it. There is a Luas station nearby, many bus options, and many restaurants, pubs, and entertainment options.

Cheap & Cheerful

Having read the previous reviews mostly being a rating of ‘one’ AFTER booking this place our group was very worried about staying here. This was heightened by the fact the taxi driver driving us from the airport also appeared to wince at the thought of us staying here too! HOWEVER! If you want value for money (a place to sleep then shower in the morning) you genuinely can’t go wrong.
This place has clearly had a lick of paint, and a revamp with the bathroom being spotless and a Nespresso Coffee machine in the room to use also.
We didn’t experience any of the issue listed on the previous reviews whatsoever and this place is such a great and central location to stay.
The one and only criticism is that the windows close but not fully so you can still hear everything outside which isn’t ideal.
Other than that if you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful place to stay in Dublin this is the place for you!

A chilled visit , to a good pub and grub

I always find them pleasant , good music, occasionally live music, good Guinness, good food , great service, well done
Down stairs toilet , a nice long bar plenty of room.staff very attentive and pleasant, sports screens if you ask .
Been a few times , always quietly good
