€300 a night, departure at 11:00 PM: very far from the high-end experience advertised
We had booked two nights in the La Maison Rose Suite to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were already familiar with MiHotel from having stayed at their Pérouges establishment, also with a Nordic bath, where we had been extremely satisfied. It was, in fact, this experience that gave us the confidence to book with them again, this time at a rate almost twice as high.
Unfortunately, the gap between the presentation of this suite and the reality observed was considerable.
Upon our arrival, we discovered a very dirty terrace: accumulated leaves and dirt, a large dried bird dropping, and various marks and damage. We immediately sent photos to MiHotel. In their subsequent response, the establishment even acknowledged in black and white that "the condition of the terrace is not acceptable."
Several finishes in the suite were also damaged.
But the most disappointing thing concerned the Nordic bath, which was obviously one of the main criteria that motivated our booking: cloudy water that did not inspire confidence, control buttons that responded poorly, and air jets that stopped after a few seconds.
Added to this are details that are hard to understand at nearly €300 a night: no hair dryer, no conditioner, and no bottle of cold water upon our arrival even though it was 38 °C.
The access also deserves to be mentioned. You have to follow nine successive steps, use several codes, two elevators, cross different spaces, and change levels several times before reaching the suite. This contrasts significantly with the promise displayed on their site of a "simple and pleasant" arrival.
We reported the problems as soon as we arrived via several emails and with photos. Our disappointment was ultimately such that we left the premises at 11 p.m., without even spending the first night there.
MiHotel refunded us for the second night, which is appreciated. However, they refused any compensation, even partial, for the first night on the grounds that we had not contacted them during our stay and that they could have intervened.
That is precisely where their response particularly disappointed us: we had sent several emails that same evening. When we pointed this out to them, they replied that they had "no record" of them other than the message sent after our departure. We therefore sent them proof of one of the emails sent as soon as we arrived.
I can perfectly understand that an incident or an oversight might occur. What is harder to accept is the accumulation of problems in a suite presented as an exceptional experience, and then the failure to take the first evening into account even though certain shortcomings are acknowledged by the establishment.
La Tour Rose is a magnificent place and the terrace has exceptional potential. But during our stay, the maintenance, the amenities, and the level of service were very far from what we had experienced at MiHotel in Pérouges and especially very far from what we expected from a suite charged at nearly €300 a night.

The process of paying for the booking was complex, for whatever reason they needed payment through a secure link but only let me know less than 24 hrs before. This could have been done in advance. Further they apparently couldn’t get my email from Expedia.
Unfortunately the instructions to get to the property were not clear. In addition, even though there was a number on all 3 occasions where I needed help- no answer. This is really not helpful for international travellers and shows a serious lack of customer care.
Great location, great room but will not be staying again.

Disconnect between booking site and actual room. Second bedroom was locked and not accessible. Remaining bedroom was in loft up steep stairs and no space to unpack suitcase.
Furniture and fittings very tired.

We were unable to check in because there is no office to do so. Make sure after you reserve you are on your phone to get the correspondence or you will be stuck on the street like we were late at night and in the rain!

The negatives: It was not clear to us that the hotel did not have any front desk staff. The shower leaked terribly onto the floor. The toilet ran off and on all day and night. On the positive side, the location was great, it was easy to get in and out, the furniture was nice, and the bed was comfortable.
