The best Hotel in the periphery of Sofia
The hotel was a bit far away from city center, however, the tram station was right next to it, and it took me about 15 min to get there. One can also come with a car and park it right next to it.
The location was in a very calm and green area, right next to the mountains. The air was fresh and sleep was deep. The rooms were clean and tidy. Every room had little terrace or balcony, facing the sun in the morning. For the dinner, next to the Hotel one can have nice and tasty dinner for a very good price.
Most importantly, the Hotel Manager was very friendly and helpful. Helped me to with places to see in Sofia and also organized a rental car for me with a very good price.

Cool views and nice atmosphere
We stayed twice for two nights each during a Balkan trip. The first time we arrived without reservation and indeed got a rather small room due to the lack of availability of the bigger once. The second time we booked 2 days in advance and got a much bigger room with a balcony and a big bathroom ( my partner, who is afraid of small spaces felt really nice in it). I believe there was a minimal price difference between the big and small rooms of a couple of euros. Paula was really helpful and did everything possible to make our visit pleasant! Thanks Paula! The place was clean and the park is amazing, since exotic gardening is the hobby of her husband. Breakfast was also lovely and again Paula is ready to please any picky wishes told in advance, in case that you do not fancy the usual continental breakfast ( I am a vegetarian and got a nice pancake with jam :)) We will visit again!

Beautiful place with incredible park
We was 3 nights in hotel and all I can say we had amazing time. Very cosy and nice atmosphere. Park in hotel is incredible with beautiful trees and a lot of green. Owner of hotel Pavlina was so nice and helpfull, she speek a lot of languages, with me she was speaking serbian and with my husband italian, and she speaks also English, German, Russian, Romanian and Bulgarian and for sure you will not be lost in translation. I don't remember when I was sleeping so well, beds was really comfortable, rooms are nice and when u go on terace u just have beautiful garden in front ur self. If we come back in Sofia, for sure we will come back in Amfora. Is not so far from centar of Sofia. Is going tramway and ticket is less then 1 euro or taxi is not more then 5 euro. I was really enjoyed our small holiday in Park Hotel Amfora.

Disappointing
Had 3 nights from 10 to 13 September 2016 at yje Park Hotel Amfora. We were very disappointed in the small cramped room with nowhere to put anything. The toilet/shower was also very small & we were amazed that having no window it didn't have an extractor fan. The rooms (if all are similar) are designed for short stay/weekend without much luggage. We had come from bansko were we had been for 11 nights and with our hiking/bird watching equipment meant we had two suitcases + hand luggage.
Being elderly access to our room was up a narrow spiral staircase impossible to negotiate with two suitcases. Obviously no help being available. Paulo the owner showed us another way which was fine but did mean we had to pass along the veranda of another room (unoccupied on our arrival). On checking out the room was occupied and Paulo seemed very annoyed we took our suitcases back along. We were not prepared to cause injury trying to take them down the spiral staircase.
Paulo was very helpful on arrival but for some reason the day we left chose not to say goodbye which we thought would have been politeness from any hotel owner. We must have upset her somehow. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this hotel

We spent perfect!
Amphora Hotel is located in a park! Mountain is literally in your balcony! This is an excellent place for rest and relaxation. Peace, comfort, excellent service! The owner of the hotel - Mrs. Paula is a beautiful, bright woman! Prices are more than good for the service and the atmosphere in the hotel! My husband and I were guests of "Amphora" 5 nights! We spent perfect! Thanks Paula! Kasiel and Osman
