Super!
Great hotel really quick easy walk into the centre of Brussels. Owner is lovely and so helpful showing us the way to the parking - note that even though it says here on tripadvisor that there is free parking there is not. We had to park just down the road but a secure safe car park for €16 for 24 hours. But that was also quick and easy. Room 1 that we stayed in is huge, spacious really comfy beds. Would stay here again.

Location - distance doesn't mean desirable.
Location: whilst roughly just 10 minutes walking distance to Grand Place the area is not great and we didn't feel particulary safe returning at night. Property: The outside of the property is unwelcoming and looks very derelict - not like some of the pics I had seen online, and the interior was rather odd and dated. Our room was accessed from a rear lounge area via extremely steep narrow winding stairs. Bathroom was very dated and the toilet was strangely positioned almost a foot away from the wall behind it, leaving it almost freestanding. Using the toilet during the night was quite hazardous due to a big step immediately outside the door. The room was very spacious and the bedding and towels were clean despite having seen better days. Whilst the room was not unclean, it did have a noticably fusty smell. The safety of the electrics in the room were questionable with several 4 gang extentions being used to meet the supply needs, and within minutes of connecting my phone charger the electrics tripped in the whole house due to a faulty extension lead. The host: very well intending with help and advice although we did decide to follow our own intuition and take a taxi to the Midi-Station rather than walk at 7am in the dark. Overall: Whilst I take no pleasure in leaving negative feedback, unfortunately I cannot agree with many of the positive reviews already left for B&B La Villa Zarin which incidentally does not offer breakfast nor resemble a villa. Our personal experience aligns more with previous negative reviews which we chose to ignore as they were the minority. Had I read more accurate reviews I would not have chosen to stay here. The pros of proximity to the city centre do not overide the cons of the area and the general condition of the accommodation, and whilst the prices charged are reasonable, they still do not offer value for money because of this.

Location location location
I really enjoyed my stay here.
First of all, it's premium location: 10 / 15 min walking from the train station, 10 min from Grand Place, next to a metro station if you're moving further from the center.
As it's on the city center, you have tones of places to eat around the hotel.
The room was big and clean. The bed comfortable.
The person that attended me (owner?) was very welcoming. I was able to store my luggage both on arrival and departure.
The internet connection was good.
On the no-so-good points:
it's a traditional house (which I loved and is why I chose the place), which means that if you have any mobility issue or carry a lot of luggage it's not for you as stairs are very narrow and very steep.
it's stated as a B&B, but breakfast is optional. They do provide a kettle and mugs, though. And there is a convenience store in front of the hotel to purchase anything you might need.
walls are thin. Noise is not an issue for me, and, with the bathroom door closed it was quiet enough for me. But if you're noise-sensitive, you should probably look for a more modern place.

Home-like experience
I chose this place as I was running away from another accommodation which turned out to be unacceptable. With a great relief and sheer joy, I found this place absolutely friendly, comfortable, elegant and well-located. The owner is an amazingly warm woman who is super helpful and nice. She has also great taste and You can see it in the interior design. I rarely come back to the same place but La Villa Zarin will definitely be my 'home' everytime I will stay in Brussels.

Great home away from home. Worth your time to find in a busy city!
Like many other similar hidden treasures, no one would choose La Villa based on outside appearances. Even once within its confines, its not the most posh establishment in all of Brussels. But to say it has many endearing characteristics would be at the least disingenuous. The proprietor, the gentle lady of the house, is friendly to a fault, helpful and happy to engage in conservation. She is full advice regarding dining, entertainment and stories about the 1600’s aged property.
The room chosen for me, a single traveler, was spacious enough for a family, and in fact had a crib, a large double bed, dinette set, two comfortable chairs and an ample sofa. A hot pot with refrigerator completed the amenities. The bathroom was modern with large shower and plenty of hot water. In spite of all the good stuff, travelers should be advised that the stairways in a very quaint old house are narrow and steep. A elevator will eliminate the need to carry heavy bags up steps. If there is one (small) complaint, it would be location. While not far off a main boulevard, La Villa can be just a bit confusing to find. The wise traveler will use a smart phone app (map.me or other application) to minimize walking blocks in search of the place. All in all, a great place to stay, with a perfect host.
Hint: Costs of breakfast (10 EU) are not included in the room price. Breakfast is not served before 7:00 AM, so if you have a early departure, find your breakfast elsewhere.
