Great hotel in the city

My family loved the appartment,the staff was great & helpful and breakfast very nice.
Pool was under big renovations,but this was informed before we arrived and we got free tickets to Darwin waterfront Wave Lagoon everyday,kids loved it.❤️

One of the worst experiences of my life.

When this accommodation was booked for us, there was nothing to say about the pool being out of action. I was very upset about this but thought I could work around it. Upon arrival, I didn’t immediately notice all the building adjoining the Reception area as it had been screen off, but walking to our room gave us a nasty shock. This place looks like a cross between a run down prison and an abandoned precinct. The gardens were all torn out. The outside walls are rotting. There is high fencing everywhere. We walked into our (studio) room to find workmen outside the sliding glass doors at the other end of the room. There is no outside seating area due to this. The curtains were dirty and did not meet in the centre leaving a 40cm gap. The room smelled and looked dirty. The only thing that looked clean was the bed. We asked for a full refund and left. Those working behind the desk were very kind and helpful in that regard. We booked this room months ago, and nowhere did I find information regarding renovations. Trip Advisor and Leea’s website make no mention of the extent of these renovations. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CLOSED UNTIL THE RENOS ARE COMPLETED. The Leea Hotel is PERFECTLY DREADFUL AT PRESENT!

Hi Jane,
You stayed in Apartment 14 on 29th of June and came to Reception and informed us that you wanted to check out because you have a heart condition and could not walk long distances. But, did not inform of any of the issues you have outlined. We refunded you the full amount.
You reserved you booking in January and received a renovation notice with booking confirmation, on May 30th, and June 27th.

Disappointed

I recently stayed at the Leea for 5 nights in total preceding and following a tour to Kakadu. I have to say I was expecting more so was disappointed in this supposed 4 star hotel. The main thing was the hotels outdoor area including the pool area was being renovated so was not available. I made my booking initially in November last year and at no stage was advised that the pool would not be available. I would have chosen another hotel if I knew. As it was peak season and school holidays it would have been difficult to change to another hotel once there. The free pass to the pool at the waterfront was not adequate compensation as was 10 minutes walk away and no lessening of price was offered. The room was comfortable and the staff were good and the location good as opposite Woolworths but these were the only good things . The laundry facilities were dirty and expensive. I had 1 meal at the restaurant. Service was very slow and the meal quite expensive and not very nice. I would not stay here again. I sent an email outlining my concerns and got an auto reply that they have received and would reply but so far nothing. I left on the 13th July so has been a week.

I believe this is the best hotel in Darwin. Elegant, clean and everything was easy. Good breakfast and great bathroom

No pool (major renovations taking place!)

Booked 4 nights for business. No where were we informed that the entire outdoor entertaining area has been bulldozed and under major renovations until at least August 2026. Really surprised there hasn’t been a previous reviewer mentioning it before this one. Sections of the place are boarded up, and we were awoken to people sanding the hallway ceiling just outside our room at 8am. Extensive works to freshen up an older resort, but it would have been nice if we were told this on booking. The buffet breakfast was ok, but again overlooks the major works and noise going on in the middle of the resort.
