Casa Joseph Libertador in Belegrano Review
They say fairy tales do not really exist, but I beg to differ. Situated in the Barrio of Belgrano is a magical boutique hotel. With only two rooms per floor and the most exquisite ceramic tile and marble finishes is Casa Joseph.
The rooms are spacious. The finishes are impeccable. From the polished concrete tile to the wide plank European oak inspired tile floors, I was very impressed. Relaxing under the massive rain fall shower is like spending a day at that spa.
The towels are thick and plush with the most delightful scent. The bedding is crisp cotton percale sheets and the most comfortable pillow I have ever slept on at a hotel (I have king size down pillows at home). The beds are very comfortable, and my AC worked very well in the summer when it was 92.
The bar is large with massive marble water fall table for seating and a delightful two burner cooktop with a large mini fridge that will cool your beverage and freeze them if you’re not careful with the temperature. Stocked with cutlery and service where for two as well as a wine opener (you must try the Norton Malbec).
The pool is a Marvel on to ITSELF. A roman stone plunge pool with 3 luxury lounge chairs and a view that will change your prospective on life. The panoramic view will take your breath away.
The staff is exceptional. Luciano was a savior and often very eager to make sure everything is perfect. Incredible friendly and English speaking. The housekeeping staff was so warm and kind. I stayed for 16 days and often had my room cleaned very 2-3 days depending on the number of guests I had . Please tip well. They work very hard. I suggest a min of $10,000 ARS per cleaning. Tip your front desk staff when you leave as well.
Some local recommendations:
Westen Union- Is only a few blocks away and is not open on Sunday. Get Argentina Pesos they will come in handy.
Café Marintez – is delightful café with the most wonderful lattes. It is only two blocks away. Next to it is a small pâtisserie. They are only $1,000 Ars each so cheap and yummy. A woman sells the most beautiful orchids on the corner. Get one and brighten your room.
Togni’s – Excellent Italian pizza. They dry age all their peperoni. I recommend the thin round style over the square. The Margharita comes with basil and is wonderful. You must try the Key-lime tart.
Dogg- Excellent hamburgers and hot dogs. The quality of beef is mouth wateringly good. Think smash burger patties and all beef grilled hot dogs
China Town- Is only a couple blocks away and is an experience you will not want to miss. Saturday and Sunday are the best nights to go. So many amazing restaurants and sushi spots. The shopping is fantastic for kids and souvenirs.
Uber- Is your best friend and widely available. I paid far less going back to the airport than I did coming from the airport with a private driver. Make sure you have an Uber app.
Rapido- Is the delivery app there for door dash and uber eats. Download and see if you can get your credit card to register. User your passport number as you DNI. It may take a day or two for your payment method to be validated. Or venture out as you are surrounded by wonderful restaurants.
Carrafuer- This is the large market only 3 blocks away. I often went every 2-3 days for wine beer and some amazing local cheeses and goodies. You will need your passport for alcohol and for some reason my Capital One World Mastercard did not work but my Paypal card did. So have a couple backup options. There is also a McDonalds above you must try their beef burgers as they are Soo much better.
Restaurants you Must Try – Tea Connection, Nomad, Corte, Fabric Sushi, so many close to the hotel
Excursions – I highly recommend the food tours and day with a driver and tour guide. If you have time take Uber to Tigre and do a boat road of the river. It is a 45 min drive but well worth it. Take an Uber to Palermo you will have a blast.
At last, remember you are in one of the most beautiful, clean and welcoming cities in the WORLD. Be kind and patient and you will have a marvelous time!!!

The host was very kind. Sadly, our room wasn’t properly cleaned and the pillows we first got were very old and dirty. The floor was also not cleaned, nor the bedside shelf. Other than that a beautiful place.

The room was clean and very warm on a cold winter weekend. The staff was very friendly and had excellent area recommendations. They offered luggage storage so we could spend some time in the city with a late evening flight.

Casa Joseph Perfect Location Wonderful Stay
Wonderful staff suite rooms located in the Palermo neighborhood. The attached Cafe restaurant is great for breakfast, lunch and an exceptional dinner.

Good hotel that could be great
My husband and I stayed for 6 nights in room 702. The hotel is in a good neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The metro stop is about 10 minutes away which is handy as traffic in BA is crazy. Our room was a corner room with two walls of glass. Despite being seven floors up it was very noisy and it would be very hot in summer. The room was large but very basic
There is a small kitchen but no wine glasses and only one tiny frypan. If you wanted to cook it would be difficult as the kitchen isn’t supplied with utensils
The small bathroom was fine but towels were small and thin
