A perfect quiet place for rest
Located on the outskirts of Rackeve where you must Serbian and the Catholic churches and the city museum, an exceptional spa with swimming pool, thermal water pools, sauna. Great rooms and very good kitchen with helpful staff.

Not recommended if you want to relax
I have spent 3 hours at the spa yesterday (04.02.2020) and I have to say I would never come again. I payed more than 4000 forints for my entry with the sauna experience included. Plus I payed 8k for my 55 min massage. Not a cheap price at all, so for that I would expect exceptional service and my well deserved time to relax what I came for.
When I went for the massage the massage room had a pleasant atmosphere, the masseur Tamas was excellent. The massage I got was just simply perfect. But the whole experience of the massage: 1 out of 5. I payed for a relax massage, no relaxation music, no aromas, but loud noises coming up from the bar and the swimming pool area, so it was not a relaxing massage at all. The massage rooms are literally above the swimming pool and the bar area which are loud: echo.
Then I went into the sauna area for an hour of relax. At least this is what you would expect. Paying the same price for an Austrian resort, or to Rudas bath, you will get the chance to relax completely. Not here. Loud customers all around talking their life out loud either inside and also just right outside the saunas and the silent room not taking the rules into consideration at all.When they started to stay quieter, the cleaning staffs were "cleaning" loudly as hell. While talking about their cigaret habits, complaining about their workplace, colleagues etc. Pulling, pushing the bucket up and down. NO relax at all. The door of the silent room cannot be closed and shut. Noice came in badly. Some engeneering work outside, loud bumpings on the walls, loud walking above the room (maybe rooms upstairs?), banging doors. Horrible.
I was given a towel to use with the hope I could use the saunas naked as it is supposed to be. Also the sauna rules mention: It is getting more and more accepted in Hungary to use the sauna experiences naked. But everyone was dressed to the top of their head, and I was feeling awkward what if I took my swimmer off.

Mass in the wellness
The hotel found a good opportunity for the more revenue. In afternoon every person
- who is not hotel guest - may go in the wellness for favourable money. There is very good for that people, but very bad for the guests of the hotel. The wellness is full, the pool is full with children (they study swimming).
The restaurant is average quality, the stairs aren't available, the renovation is loud.
I can't recommend this hotel.

disappointment
No air conditioning working in the scorching heat.
The beds were small and inconvenient. The bedding was a joke.
The place deserves a good painting after probably some ten years.
There is only one elevator built in at one end of the building. What a cock up.
In general, the whole building looked shabby and cheap.
The only saving factor is that the staff was nice, helpful and hard working.

Great healing medicinal water - a nice winter spa break
I selected this Hungarian hotel/ water (acqualand) spa for several reasons; it is very close to Budapest, the capital city, and supposedly has very good , healing quality medicinal water. These types of spas are found throughout Hungary, which has a rich aqua culture going back to Roman times.The waters vary, some are just thermal, hot springs from the earth on which the spas are built and some have tested medicinal qualities, again coming up from deep in the earth. This one is purported to help with joint, bone, etc. ailments and is certified periodically. Interestingly this verification process fell on one of the days when we were there and all the pools were empty .The hotel handled this unexpected , unfortunate situation excellently. To make up for the lack of water they offered free massages and upgraded us to a suite.
There are several pools on the premises with the medicinal water; one inside next to a big , multi lane swimming pool. Another one is outside with cold dipping pool next to it and close to a three different sauna and steam room area.
There is also a large outdoor medicinal pool area, a bit of a walk away from the hotel building, where we did not go due to the cold weather.
All the facilities and pools were very clean and comfortable. The half board daily cost included all the spa facilities, breakfast and dinner. Meals were buffet style and I would not call them healthy when compared to american style spas....meals were typically Hungarian, meats with heavy, thick sauces. Typically there was a chicken and pork choice, soups nd salads plus side dishes . Based on my experience with other spas in Hungary, the food was mediocre at best.One can always find great desserts in Such places, but not at this hotel, sadly.
The rooms were spacious, clean and everything one needed was provided. The hotel is very small, 2 floors of maybe 25 rooms. There is a large day guest contingency of local people and children coming for swimming lessons.
The whole complex is on pretty large grounds next to the Danube. There are multiple pool areas that I would imagine are pretty full in summer time but closed for the winter.
The staff was wonderfully helpful at all times especially a Jozsi at the front desk.
This is a great place , although uneven,for massages. I found the sport and medical massages fantastic, given by two young men named Peter and Gergo.The relaxation massage was just someone spreading some oil on...so i would not recommemd it. The reflexology massage was awful given by a not so friendly woman named Rita.
While we enjoyed our water treatment for three days and found it beneficial , i did not give a higher rating to this facility due to how i think it compares with other facilities in Hungary and because i do not want to mislead foreign visitors with potentially different expectations for a spa.
If someone is looking for good quality medicinal water and is happy with alternating from pool to pool and sauna and massages ,not much else ,at a very reasonable cost , then this is an excellent place for that.
