Simply the best hotel we've ever stayed at: huge spa&wellness, stylish&calm, great food, exceptional quality
We have just returned from a wonderful 5-night stay: it was outstanding in every respect and an absolute delight.
A well-known hotelier once said a hotel is essentially made up of "hardware" (the facilities) and "software" (the staff and service). This hotel excels on both counts. The hardware is outstanding: the spa and wellness area is huge (and reportedly the biggest in Hungary), the undisputed highlight being real sulphurous thermal water piped straight from Lake Héviz, alongside numerous pools, baths, jacuzzi's, saunas, relaxation areas and more. The software matched it perfectly: the staff were competent and friendly and we felt relaxed and at ease quickly after checking in.
The buffet deserves special mention: the food was absolutely top quality and it was a pleasure to see local Hungarian main courses, side dishes and desserts featured rather than the generic international spread. In the evenings, there's plenty for children of all ages to explore and play (billiards, adventure zones, mini golf, shuffle board etc), joint family activities (e.g. bowling) and live music (an exceptionally talented violin player one evening who has played for nearly four decades comes to mind).
One more thing worth mentioning: the evening dress code (essentially no shorts, flip-flops or sandals). I noticed some reviewers complain (or even freak out) about this, but honestly it is a very small ask and it def. adds to the stylish atmosphere: a nice change to sit down to dinner without men in shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops around.
The overall atmosphere is pleasant, stylish and refreshingly low-key. Since Héviz is slightly off the beaten track for tourists flying into Budapest and the hotel only opened a year ago, it hasn't yet been discovered by crowds or large tour groups. The spacious and modern layout makes the whole place feel calm and serene.
The rooms are modern, stylish and comfortable with excellent beds and a huge terrace (a favorite spot to unwind after a day). The (small) town center is just a short walk away, but with everything the hotel offers, we hardly felt the need to explore it.
In short: this place is a fantastic find for anyone looking for genuine thermal wellness, excellent food and a calm and stylish atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We've stayed in a good 50 or so hotels across Europe over the years, and although I'm not a great fan of lists/rankings, Le Primore would rank right at the very top...

Retreat in Heiviz
This hotel is 2 hours by car from Vienna. Whilst I think the best experience would be had in winter, as a summer retreat is also very good.
Service from staff is excellent and the hotel offers a wide variety of activities that range from spa, massages, haircuts to sports bars and darts.
A highlight of the hotel is their variety of pools, all of them ranging from warm temperatures to 40°C in their hot springs area.
You can take turns and rotate around the pools, which offers a very enjoyable swimming time.
Their bars and restaurants have a great variety of food, which they offer in buffet service. Service time for these places is not narrow and allows you to sleep and have breakfast not so early in the morning or eat dinner before 10pm.
All in all, excellent experience.

Limitless relaxation experience
Limitless relaxation experience. The service we received from the hotel staff was incredible, truly the next level of hospitality. From the smile when receiving our luggage, to the respectful and high-quality service when having treatments at the spa. Outstanding Spa and Food
Outstanding hotel! The food is excellent, especially breakfast. They have an excellent selection of Hungarian wines and the Sommelier was a great help choosing the right pairing for our dinner. I can also recommend the Bali massage.
