Great hospitality experience in Pest !

My experience in the Benczúr hotel is amazing !! 6 min away from the nearest Metro station and 8 min for bus by walk. The room is clean, cozy and nice (with a mini fridge). The house keeper put Doggy on the bed after room cleaning, they have wit Our room also had aircond and a bathtub (v. important for me). The hotel restaurant is also amazing, the price is very decent and the quality of food is impeccable (source: my order and the neighbouring table’s which I overlooked). The waitress lady was also very sweet Thank you for your service !

Absolutely Disgraceful Experience – Avoid at All Costs

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and it was easily one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, it became clear that the hotel is highly misleading in its presentation. While they advertise a mix of renovated and modern rooms, the reality is that the majority (around 80%) are outdated—and unsurprisingly, I was assigned one of the worst.
The room was in very poor condition. The bathroom was a complete mess, with a broken shower and clear signs of neglect. Hygiene standards were extremely questionable throughout my stay. When I raised these issues and requested a room change, the receptionist asked for an additional €20—an unreasonable and unacceptable demand for something that should be basic.
To make matters worse, when I requested fresh towels and a bedsheet change, I was told that bedsheets are only changed once every seven days. This is completely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint, especially for a hotel accommodating short stays.
I also tried to escalate the issue to the manager, but nothing was resolved. The staff were consistently unhelpful, and their attitude came across as indifferent, greedy, and disrespectful.
The hotel claims the water is safe to drink, but judging by the visibly old and worn-out pipes (which appear to be decades old), this is highly questionable.
Additionally, the carpet had a strong unpleasant odor, the wardrobes were broken, and the entire room felt poorly maintained and unhygienic.
The location is another drawback—it’s far from the main city area, requiring a 7-minute walk to the nearest tube station, followed by several stops to reach central locations.
Overall, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. Save your money, your time, and your peace of mind—stay somewhere else.

Hotel features excellent amenities, a varied and very complete buffet, the cleaners very attentive and the reception staff very helpful.

Great stay in Budapest. The hotel has a very good location in a calm and green, while still being close to the city center. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful, and parking was very convenient for travelers arriving by car.
A really good balance between price, comfort, and location. Would definitely stay here again for another Budapest trip.
