Comfortable and welcoming
Honest price to be in the center of Venice, everything at your fingertips. Our room was clean and cozy. We had everything we needed for a 4 day stay on New Year's Eve. Mrs. Eleonora and her husband were very kind and helpful.

The House of Terror
One of the worst accommodations I have ever been to. A literally dilapidated entrance, with garbage bags on the door, the “reception” consists of a living room full of old, dusty furniture covered with sheets and blankets. With hardly any light. The owners, an older couple with a bad temper who force you to go through a master class on how to open and close doors, get angry if you don't listen carefully and demand to leave the room key on a panel along with everyone else's keys. guests, without any control (self-service), with the risk that this entails.
The room… a horror!! Tons of dust on lamps, baseboards, floors and radiators. It literally smells like dust and it is very difficult for an asthmatic person to breathe. Torn curtains, falling lamps and dirt everywhere. There is no room service (no one makes the beds or cleans during your stay).
They definitely shouldn't offer this place to ANYONE! It is uninhabitable!!

AVOID AT ALL COST
Avoid this place! We arrived 5 minutes late and were hit with a €40 fee. Paid €30 for AC, but they rummaged through our stuff, took the remote, and charged us again. Despite paying another €30, they still didn’t leave the remote, making us ring the bell and wait each time. The manager gave an hour-long aggressive lecture in Italian/French and refused to use Google Translate. Rooms are dusty with moldy showers. Owners barged in while I was showering, yelling for immediate checkout. Reported to local authorities. Worst hotel ever—do not stay here!

Unpleasant surprise
Well not to mention the hygiene of the place, we had a terrible experience while I'll was eating and sitting on the chair the ply top of chair broken under my weight (92kg) so next morning we reported to the owner. She got angry and was throwing words on us obviously we didn't understand a bit because of the language barrier. Then on the afternoon we got a letter. They charged us 100 euro. I just used a chair as it was designed to use and because its failed under the normal use I had to pay 100 euros. This is a rip off.
If someone coming to my house and a chair broken under a normal use I would not say anything just replacing it and that's it.

Excellent experience overall
It was our 10th wedding anniversary for my husband and I and we decided to mark it by visiting the most romantic country in Europe, esp. Venice and Verona (which is just 1.20 mins by train from Venice, for EUR 9 one way) - and we made the right choice!
B&B Tiepolo is a lovely, pleasant and quirky B&B with a very unique decor and wonderful vintage murano glass chandeliers all over the place (which we loved!), situated in the heart of the old town of Venice, right next to water bus stop and within a walking distance from various shops, restaurants, super-market and lovely squares (the famous Venetian Ghetto was right behind the hotel with lovely restaurants where locals go - with much nicer authentic Mediterranean food at very reasonable prices for old town of Venice that is quiet expensive overall). Wonderful view over the canal and plenty lovely little restaurants around. It is very quiet area and we had a great sleep after all day walking and visiting places. The quirky yet spacious room with a small built-in kitchenette equipped with sink, microwave, two cooker plates, pots, pans, dishes and cutlery, fridge) which was handy for preparing breakfasts and quick meals, and nice refurbished external bathroom, which was only for our use, brought extra special feeling to our overall stay in Venice.
If you need anything like more towels, toilet paper you just need to ask and you will be supplied without any problem. The owners, a wonderful Italian lady Eleonora-a retired professor Latin language and literature and her husband, showed us the building and what we needed to know in terms of house safety rules and made sure that we had a pleasant stay. Although none of us spoke Italian or French (as the owners speak only Italian and French) we were able to understand the main idea and points by using body language and international words and being patient. If we go to Venice again we will definitely stay there again. Highly recommended without any doubt!!!
