We only had one night but the service was top tier<33 The kind gentleman in the reception opened the breakfast at 6am because we had an early train out - there was homemade cake and great coffee, HIGHLY recommend!

Comfortable, essential... school groups, no thank you.
Given the conflicting reviews... here is my take. I should mention that a month prior, I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel that was fairly central. Prices shot up to 200 euros a night repeatedly, then I heard about the Orchid (great location, Porta Susa) and booked online, an honest price for one night. I also booked considering they have internal parking (garage, covered for 10 euros). A couple of days before arrival, I asked and obtained an additional night (June 2) at a... bargain price. I arrived early in the morning (booked tours), the very kind Alessandra immediately arranged for us and gave us all the instructions to get to the city center. She even reserved a table for us for dinner at a nearby trattoria. Room and services were essential (oh my, the shower box is... for very small people, I believe the very kind owners are such, well integrated and speaking an Italian that many politicians can only dream of). Everything was spotless, the bed was very comfortable. The only negative note was the tolerance shown towards the usual loud, rude, and ill-mannered school group that too often appears in hotels with teachers/educators worse than the kids. I struggled to fall asleep, but fortunately, it came just as I was about to burst out. After making the complaint in the morning... they appeared disheartened (and unfortunately almost powerless). Absolutely positive experience, thanks again to Alessandra and Luca.

Read before booking. Invasion of privacy.
During the stay, my daughter and I
returned in the early afternoon to
the room to leave some packages.
We found the room completely in disarray, occupied by a technician who had disassembled the air conditioner that was there and installed a new one.
All of this with our belongings in the room.
covered only by a sheet.
Dust everywhere, boxes and tools placed on our beds, and our belongings moved without our consent. No one had informed us about this work.
An action taken by invading our privacy. The owner tried in many ways to justify his behavior, even claiming that the work was urgent and could not be postponed, which was not true because the air conditioner in the room was not causing any disturbance or problem.
They did not care at all about how this could affect our vacation.
Highly anticipated vacation ruined.
Terrible experience.
After my insistence, I was given a room change.
Which we did not leave until departure for fear of what might happen.

GOOD EXPERIENCE
I stayed at this hotel for a school trip, 3 nights.
when we arrived they made us deposit our suitcases all morning, subsequently (when we arrived in the evening) they gave us the keys to the rooms. The rooms are very nice and modern with blue LEDs. There is a desk with a chair, a television (in my case working) and a wardrobe. The bathroom is a little small but working. In my room there was also a very nice balcony. The rooms are very new and quiet, but we say that the walls are thin and you can hear the people who are upstairs and the people next to them. As for breakfast, little abundant with: croissants (chocolate, jam, cream and empty), a cake, rusks with jams, juices etc... the staff quite helpful.

Two days outing
Just got back from a two-day trip we spent one night there
The bed was the only good thing.
I settled because we went two days and not one.
As soon as we entered we found ourselves 3 broken bulbs of which 2 did not have the bulb, toilet seat that was broken. With this I close not to list all the other problems.
