We had a great experience, online check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The location is fantastic - close to everything we wanted to see. Our room featured a newly renovated bathroom and cooling AC that felt clean and modern, and we had a good breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended!

Family service right in the old town
Outstanding hotel. Nice rooms, good and personal service. 5 stars because of extremely good price and quality ratio. The location of the hotel is just wonderful in the middle of the old town with authentic Italian atmosphere.

Nice location, otherwise unfortunately a bust
Located in a supposedly quiet side alley.
"Supposedly" because there is a nice, small restaurant opposite the hotel, whose guests don't exactly talk quietly until well after midnight.
So there is not much left that would have caught the eye positively: the staff was friendly, the room halfway clean - that's it!
What hit me a little sour _before_ the holiday: the booking via booking.com worked - as always - flawlessly. A few days before the trip, I (and the other fellow travellers who had booked themselves) received a message from the hotel pointing out that you could manage the booking via a link that sounds similar to that of booking.com.
It was then pointed out that they had allegedly not yet paid. I'm sure there'll be one or two who fall for it...
- Breakfast _very_ modest
- extremely modest space
- Air conditioning offers 3 levels: off/on/quiet: in normal operation, sleep is unthinkable, in silent mode the thing almost does not cool at all (well, this is not necessarily to be expected with an air conditioning system installed near the ground(!), but the refrigerator warms all the more
- Windows could not be opened due to road noise
- Battery safe empty
- TV without German-language channels
- Bath amenities in miniature editions and thus waste resources
What was still quite annoying: the curtain does not completely rest against the window, a large mirror is mounted on one side wall. From about 5am (early June) the sun shone through this 10cm gap between the window and the curtain and then hit the mirror exactly. And of course this light dazzled in the middle of the bed!
Especially due to the extremely weak-breasted and noisy air conditioning I would definitely not recommend the hotel for summer months. Even at the beginning of June it was already 25°C in the room at night!

Excellent communication, great location, well preserved Roman brickwork in the hotel itself, spotless rooms, and first-class staff. The lady who serves coffees in the breakfast room was a particular delight. - tolerant of our pitiful Italian and full of cheery warmth.

Decent Trieste Hotel
This hotel has been renovated and it in nice condition and very clean. The breakfast was continental and very nice also. There is no parking and the nearest parking garage is a 10 min walk. The hotel entrance in a pedestrian only alleyway and the street to get to the hotel is one way and extremely narrow. So there is no where to park temporarily to unload bags, etc. If you are driving beware that google maps will take you to this spot. We ended up backing into an alleyway to unload. However backing up into a tight narrow space while heavy traffic raced down the one way street towards us was a challenge. We had a room on the very top floor, what was an attic that was converted into a room. It was nice but the issue beside the odd low ceiling layout, was the air conditioning was no where near adequate. We had it set on the lowest setting and it never got lower than 23.5° or about 75°F. Beware if you are like me and need the room to be 21°C (70°F) or below to sleep. Lastly, the alleyways nearby have many bars and restaurants which ran very late and were very loud. If you are a light sleeper, keep this in mind.
