A Pleasant Hostel in a Great Location
I had a very enjoyable stay at Youki Haus. The hostel is centrally located in Parque Rodó, close to the park, the beach, cafés, shops and convenient bus connections.
The building has plenty of character and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the terrace, the well-equipped communal kitchen and the comfortable shared spaces. My room was bright, clean and comfortable.
The staff were friendly, helpful and easy to reach. The hostel is suitable for short visits as well as for students, digital nomads and travelers planning a longer stay in Montevideo. Optional breakfast, laundry service and other practical services are also available.
I would recommend Youki Haus to travelers looking for a relaxed and personal alternative to a large, impersonal hostel.

Excellent
Think of a hostel I loved staying in. Clean, well located literally next to the rodo park and 3 minutes walking from the rambla, quiet and very cozy.
Moving road where passes all the buses at the door.
The boys at the reception are wonderful, super careful and friendly. My second experience in hostel and was fantastic.

Toulouse Haus
The hostel is in an older house, shared bathrooms. 3 total with 2 showers. This is inadequate in the morning rush. The location is adjacent to 2 busy streets with truck and bus traffic from early to late. It is a pretty nice facility, good beds, hot water showers, marginal but adequate water pressure. My single room had a loft bed, which was kind of unique.

Hostel at home
The hostel is small but very homely, the guys who work there make you feel at home, well equipped kitchen downstairs with a dining room, upstairs rooms and a very nice terrace, the only thing only two bathrooms with shower but it is not an eternity wait!

Quiet and social. Was really happy staying here.
The location just around the corner of Parque Rodó is good considering the Montevideo old town is a rather gloomy place especially after dark. By contrast Rodó park is adjacent to Ramirez beach and the more modern and comfortable parts of town are close by. Tres Cruces bus terminal with link to the airport is 3 km away.
After having stayed at two other very noisy hostels in the city, Youki Haus managed by a German-French couple, is quiet and if there is a complaint about noise, they know where you are talking about and solve the issue. Moreover, there are several spaces like a living room and a roof terrace where you can retreat.
The kitchen is well-equipped and never dirty! The hostel managers are always around to address any queries or just for a chat. Really very social people, as well as the other members of staff.
All facilities like hot shower, toilets, WiFi worked well.
Spanish, English, German and French fluently spoken by the management.
