Noisy area but very nice

Very nice accommodations, friendly staff and excellent breakfast. My only issue was noise. It is in a very busy, noisy area and I was awakened numerous times. It really doesn’t quite down much at all in the middle of the night. The call to prayer is very loud and very early -like 5am. Not sure where it came from but was very near by. Just be prepared and you will enjoy your stay!

WiFi - won’t!

Aside from its central location (walking distance to food and downtown area markets), I can only really recommend the Rich for its’ great housekeeping and front desk staff - as the amenities are average. Most notably and specifically, if you are a dial nomad and/or simply want to check your email - WiFi access at the Rich is well-below average, bordering on unavailable. Outside of spending time in the common areas - restaurant & lobby, internet access is completely unreliable throughout much of the hotel - either day or night. That said - hotel staff are accommodating, pleasant and hard-working! BTW if you need quiet - this also may not be the place for light or late sleepers because it’s situated between 2 local mosques - so the day begins at 4:30 a.m., once the Imam calls to prayer. Be advised!

Modest hotel, fit for purpose

This hotel is well situated in a lively street. Reception is competent and well intentioned.
On the minus side, it is situated close to a religious edifice, whose occupants do not hesitate to put not only their regular calls to prayers but also their whole proceedings on loudpeakers, read LOUD SPEAKERS, at quite a late time in the night. If your wish at that time is to sleep rather than save your soul for a future life, sorry for you.
Recommendation: plan your trip NOT to fit with this religious calendar. With that sorted, your stay should be modest rather than glamorous, but pleasant.

Worst hotel

Waste of money as they hv problem with electricity and no generator back provided in day time. Staffs are non courteous and will not help you even if you are dieing. I had nightmarish experience staying there for 2 nights as I HV no choice. No water in washroom in morning so be prepared to take bath with bucket waters

It's better somewhere else

I stayed here for a whole two weeks courtesy of a group travel that required us to essentially stay together. The stay was a test of perseverance. Only saving grace was friendly staff who tried their best. Room service was not charged too.Hotel location is noisy and crowded, rooms are small and cleaning was not much to standard. hot water system would be intermittent. There is a mosque nearby that ensured that good sleep is a luxury. TV was blurred and limited options. Zero Covid protocols and those of us masking were made fun of (general attitude in Tanzania). For the price of 25 USD, its a case of what you pay is what you get. I'll certainly try elsewhere next time.
