Troubled good service, a little poor range of breakfast but what you eat usually (sandwiches, yogurt, juice etc) access to coffee, tea and hot chocolate around the clock. Very friendly staff. Quiet neighborhood. Surprisingly good room. Comfortable beds. TV with access to e.g. YouTube, disney+. Highly recommend. PS: shower head glows blue, green and red, really cool.

Regulars who have become dissatisfied

We had ordered gluten- and lactose-free breakfast, all that I got was an inedible toast - lactose-free butter is not available to buy throughout Sollefteå was what I was told by the owner, the staff was non-existent, missing even at breakfast. The TV did not work, toilet paper we had to look for, the restaurant had at the time lost its alcohol license. We have stayed at the hotel since 2000 but now there will be no more visits for us. We reconnected to the service and then the owner struck out and do not want to take what we said.
Has always been satisfied but since it changed hands in 2025 the service has become worse which is a shame.

Undeservedly low rating!

I think the hotel well corresponds to the expectations one can have of a hotel in a smaller Swedish city. Decent rooms that certainly have peaked a few years ago but clean and decent beds.
Breakfast surprises with hot food, vegetables and fruit.
With the right expectations, the stay at Appelbergs will be a good experience. This is not Scandic or Elite.

Have been to this hotel many times. But... Will never come here again

Have been here several times and all times the hotel has been on a 3
This is where it's awful
Check-in went well.
We had room 205: broken handles so you got locked in, wasps outside the window. TV not working.
Having a party and refill the deck below, did not bother to fix the errors in 2 days.
Breakfast. Hot dogs low at 30 degrees should be at least 60 to avoid getting sick
Breakfast was good but cheese and ham
