Don’t hesitate on this hotel
What a wonderful hotel the rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. The staff is kind helpful and the restaurants and bars have excellent service and food would highly recommend. Great location can walk everywhere.

Almost perfect
First the good : Top notch, friendly staff, big fluffy towels, comfortable bed, welcoming, super fast check-in, comfortable lobby, great location, good toiletries (Aesop) Nice breakfast (complimentary)
Bad : Not enough places to put clothes for two peeps (good for one person), bathroom lighting made it very difficult to see in the mirror or look for your toiletries. (The bathroom was big and spacious, but it sacrificed the living area space. It was really bigger than it needed to be) Weak water pressure/no handheld.

Thin walls. Don’t stay here
Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Walls are thinner than a motel 8. I could hear people snoring and having sex. I didn’t sleep. Especially for the price don’t stay here.

Very Noisy Hotel
We stayed on the 4th floor of the hotel on the evenings of Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th. We felt that the hotel was clean and well appointed and we liked the retention of the original beams and flooring. The staff was consistently friendly and professional. On Friday evening, we were unable to sleep until after 3:00 AM due to road noise and loud music. The staff graciously moved us from a room facing the road to an interior room. Motorcycles continued to race through the alley behind our room on Saturday night and we were again unable to sleep until early morning. We decided to request a late check out time to rest on Sunday morning prior to our return trip. Unfortunately, a party was being held in your bar / restaurant area and the music was so loud that it reverberated on the 4th floor. When I checked out, I literally could not hear what the Front Desk Attendant was saying. We paid $1500 for a two night stay and we returned home exhausted.

That said, I'm truly sorry. Two consecutive nights without proper sleep, and then a disrupted morning when you were counting on some rest before your drive home, is simply not the experience you paid for or deserved. I appreciate that our staff moved you to an interior room on Friday, but I'm disappointed that it didn't spare you from the noise the following night, and that the event in our bar area made your departure on Sunday even more difficult.
Your feedback is genuinely useful to me. The road and alley noise, and especially the sound carrying from a private event up to the fourth floor, are specific issues I want to look into so we can do better — both in how we manage event sound and in how we set expectations for guests staying with us on busy weekends.
I'd very much like the opportunity to make this right. If you'd be willing to reach out to me directly at the hotel, I'd welcome the chance to discuss your stay and, I hope, to earn a second chance to show you the restful experience Populus should be.
