It’s an old but charming building, with very nice vantage facades. There are some pockets of homeless people (downtown area indeed) and also some busy restaurants around, so you expect a mixture of feeling. Neighborhood is safe and very convenient - walking distance to public transportation network.

Friendly staff, useful amenities, smaller but nice breakfast/bar area. Easy check-in/out, and convenient luggage storage both in the room and for the time after checking out but before leaving the city

The room itself was nothing to write home about but the beds were very comfortable and felt clean, typical hostel room vibes. However just keep in mind there is no parking so you are having to find street parking near some sketchy streets. The front desk people did not seem happy to be there and customer service was definitely lacking, no smile or greeting. Big flies were constantly circulating around entrance of lobby the whole time we were there so we were constantly having to walk through them, maybe consider some electric fly swatters! Kitchen was good, happy to have multiple stoves and ability to make food but storage space was very limited! Best part of this hostel is that it is very close to Pike Place Market and the waterfront.. I just didn't feel like I wanted to hang around there any longer than I needed to!

The staff was great and the hostel was chill.
My only observation was that when I got there I saw homeless people wandering in and taking things. I recommend a full time security person that can defuse that energy so it doesn’t enter the Hostel. It was bad that someone got their Switch stolen.
Thank God the next day I rose early and did my Seva service as a Sikh and watched the front door for must of the day and patrolled the neighborhood. It let me see the neighborhood in a different way and truly appreciate the diversity that stayed at the Hostel.
I make friends easily cause everybody deserves a chance at having a homie. It was a pleasure staying there and getting to know some of the staff and the owners are from Denver where I lived for 5 years .
I highly recommend at night having a beer or three and enjoying the warm company of the staff. I loved watching them do there routines as staff lives in the grounds. I am not going to lie I had a few favorites after my stay and observing them on and off the clock. They had music going all the time that helps soothe people after travel.
O my recommendation is that maybe have free snacks and just charge $3 for Rainer or Coors. But again we’ll spend money. I highly recommend it when in Seattle.
I might pass on the word to Karol G that will be touring in Seattle August 26 that her crew should just take over the Hostel cause it’s a cool vibe.
