Overrated has potential
They didn’t have us in the system. They argued with Tripadvisor, then downgraded us to a queen when we paid for the king when we got to the queen room it was not clean. It still had people stuff in it so we left for the day came back. It was still wasn’t clean then they moved us downstairs into another queen on the first floor that was after they were trying to tell us we had to leave a day early even though we paid for the whole stay. Then they said they didn’t have the guest key in at 11 o’clock at night. Someone then tried to enter our room and when I asked if we could have the guest key, they said they did not have one.

Wonderful stay at historic Malaga Inn
The unique experience of staying at a 150+ year old historic home was wonderful. The courtyard and its lush plantings was a nightly resting place. The staff was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Its placement in the historic Mobile downtown was ideal for our needs. We enjoyed the small park, Spanish Plaza, just across the street.

This boutique hotel experience was really cool! I love the old charm. However, it’s unfortunate that they can’t keep up better with the property as far as repairs wise. I also did not like the fact that there was no water available to the guests. If they did have water (what the front desk person said) they would charge us $3/bottle. For what we paid to stay there, water should be free, but they did have ice. Every person who worked here was really sweet and kind. Met the owner in passing he was also kind. Lots of construction everywhere. It was a decent experience for the date of the hotel and it not having the fancy amenities like a newer hotel.

The staff was so helpful when we arrived late. They carried our suitcases to the room and were so accommodating! We had a wonderful, comfortable stay and we plan to return someday aoon.
