Architectural Gem

My wife and I just spent 4 nights at the Radisson. The hotel is round and every room has a balcony. The restaurant on the 18th floor provides great views and revolves for dinner. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The place needs new carpet and had a slight musty smell. However, the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of water pressure, and the hot water was hot. I would stay there again.

Stayed here for 2 nights last week with my daughter and 4 year old grandson for a quick visit to the Newport Aquarium and the Natural History Museum. Driving down in to the parking garage was the first red flag and then being hit in the face with the strong smell of weed as soon as we opened the door to the “hotel” was the second. The smell was even worse on the 12th floor where our room was. We made it through the 2 nights and thankfully got our $50 back for incidentals otherwise I would have given it 1 star. 100% do not recommend.

Checked in 7/30/26. Room wasn't cleaned till 8/1/26. Cleaning crew was on our floor on 8/1/26 when we left room for the day. Returned to the room around 5:30pm on 8/1/26 and room still not clean. Requested room to be cleaned on 7/31/26 as well and it wasn't. Had to go down to front desk on 8/1/26 to finally get room cleaned around 6:00pm which was quite an inconvenience.

The integrity of the hotel was as terrible and dishonest as it comes. I made a reservation through a third party vendor 8 months before I was scheduled to arrive. Once the hotel found out a convention was co.ing town, 7-10 days before I arrived, they called me canceled my room reservations stating that mechanical difficulties caused damage on fi e floors of rooms and 60 room reservations had to be canceled. But it came to pass that they rebooked those room at a higher price rate due to the demand of the convention participants needing lodging accommodation. This was as under handed as it gets. Honor your agreement the room was already booked. Also I wasn't the only person to experience a cancelation to rebook room at a higher rate. It was the hotels piss poor preparation and not knowing a convention was coming to town that cause this to happen. They didn't offer an alternative reservation, they could have given me a free stay at another time due to the convenience, but they did not but say IT WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. Very discussed with the Radisson for this, it let me in a Monumental challenge to find somewhere to lay my head and belongings.
