Outram Gem in the heart of Singapore - a DORSETTE REWARDS property

Dorsette Outram was our first stop in Singapore, first for 4 nights with a high floor City View and a a lower floor Shop House view for 3 nights after a week in KL. Located directly over the MRT oine with it's own elevator, chill out in the subway as you ride over to one of 4 Chinatown Hawker Centers within a 15 minute walk of the hotel. A hawker center breakfast of Copi C coffee, Kaya Toast and dipping soft boiled eggs are the greatest breakfast you will every have. Several Michelin-Star eateries are mixed in with many other great vendors for any meal of the day, YouTube is your friend to explore. Short rides to the Marina Bay area for your daytrips, and a great bakery just around the corner in one of the shophouses. The staff were all great, ice was always delivered quickly at our request. This hotel has a reputation for very good hygeine and it excelled with functionality and good maintenance. Wifi connections were sometimes below streaming capacity. TV was tricky for access HDMI connections for AV but every hotel TV I use in Asia is like that. The emergency flashlight had dead batteries, and the swimming pool closes way too early at 8:00 PM. In one of the WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE cities to visit, the Dorsette Singapore met every target for quality, value, and location. Start and end your Malaysian trip at the Dorsette Hotel, Singapore. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Singapore Stopover

Dorsett Hotel is right on top of Outram Park MRT making very easy to get around, with Chinatown less than a 15 minute walk away.
The hotel itself is a little tired, but has everything you need and the room is cleaned everyday. I used the pool which was very quiet and lovely to do a few lengths each time. However, the pool changing room could do with a bit of an update and there were no toiletries to wash, so I ended up dripping my way back to the room to change.
The highlight of our stay was the complementary food tour on the Sunday with Celine and Ashraf, two lovely members of staff, who took us to several local restaurants and explained about the different cultures and life in Singapore.
We would definitely stay at the Dorsett again if we are in Singspore

Very centrally located hotel - perfect for sightseeing

We stayed at the Dorsett during our city break in March/April.
The hotel is super central to the MRT station. It's all very clean, the rooms are spacious, quiet and the staff always friendly.
Check-in and check-out without any problems.
At breakfast (intercontinental) there is something for everyone.

Free Food Tour

I joined the free food tour at Dorsett Singapore and it ended up being one of the highlights of my stay. It felt like being shown around by a local friend—super relaxed and welcoming. We wandered through Chinatown, stopping to try a bunch of local dishes, from kaya toast to roti prata and more.
The food was great (and surprisingly filling), but what I really enjoyed were the little stories behind each stop. It made the whole experience feel more meaningful, not just about eating. Definitely worth waking up for—come hungry!

Booked a double and a twin room and received 2 twin rooms. Was in the lift going upto yo 10th floor, a staff member got in on the seventh floor and took the lift back down to the first floor. Not impressed.
