Great location, delightful air-conditioning

A group of students from Chicago stayed here on their first visit to Senegal. They loved the beds, air-conditioning, kind staff, and the location. We were so busy we didn't have time to enjoy the clean pool in the courtyard area. There is also a charming gift shop with locally made artisan products.

Great staff, poor breakfast

Le Lodges des Almadies is well located with beaches and many restaurants within walking distance. Staff were very good, friendly and helpful all round.
The Lodge is across two buildings with a couple of other buildings in between. Rooms were comfortable and clean though a few maintenance issues needed to be in top shape. Surprisingly, water is not provided each day so make sure you get some (go across the road where a bottle is CFA300 otherwise you pay CFA2000 for the same thing at the restaurant.
The pool area is ok, though overlooked by the restaurant as the garden area is small.
Breakfast is really not great at all. For CFA8,000 you are far better off eating elsewhere - lots of cafes and restaurants with breakfast and brunch menus with much better quality and often for less. Of grab some beignets from a vendor which are much nicer than the paltry buffet option.
While it’s a solid basic hotel, it does need to up its game and not just rely on their excellent staff to carry the facility.

Basic - good value for money

1 hour from Dakar airport, it is off-center from Dakar and it is the point of Almadies. The hotel is very good but a bit off-center restaurants or whatever.
Breakfast at the hotel very hearty buffet.
Beautiful pool even if the water was very cold.

Simple but effective

The hotel is a bit off-center but very nice for one stage.
Very clean.
Super nice staff and full of good advice.
The rooms facing the rear are quiet.
Very good classic restaurant.
Small pool and terrace.
