Magnificent, but things to improve.
Regarding the rooms (cabins), they are narrow and every step makes the whole shelter shake. No privacy regarding the toilets: door letting in noise and odors + partition wall facing the headboard.
Speaking of odors, we had urine odors coming up through the shower drain throughout our stay. Lack of toilet paper: Only 1 roll already started and no refill.
The point that bothers me the most is the policy of this establishment. The house rules sent a few hours before check-in are "passive-aggressive": prohibition on eating in the room or even bringing drinks back! It is simply abnormal as a practice.
Also, barely arrived, a welcome drink is offered to us, accompanied by the menu for the evening!
We are forced to order immediately for dinner...
In any case, it will be almost impossible for you to leave the premises at night, because the lodge is confined to the Grand Etang trail, with a remote-controlled metal gate. Only the Kanopéa decides if you stay or leave.
Dinner was not bad overall, but expensive for the quality. Fish overcooked and cheesecake for dessert too salty, not refined enough.
Breakfast was decent, served at the table, but we had to share everything. For example, only 1 small pastry for 2, which we had to cut to have a piece each.
Overall, the place is superb and relaxing. Too expensive, however, for what is offered in terms of amenities and overall comfort.
You shouldn't think too much once you are there, because the deprivation of freedom and the cramped nature of the cabins can quickly become distressing for claustrophobes.
Wonderful and terrifying at the same time.
