Enchanted parenthesis

An exceptional experience! An obligatory stop during your vacation in Panama. Pedro (for short) and Irina are wonderful people with a great sense of welcome. Their land is a little paradise where you feel good as soon as you set foot. Surrounded by nature and bordered by a wide beach, it was great. We did the “picnic” activity which we can only recommend! From the mangrove, to the village, through a beautiful visit, many stories and a hearty and excellent lunch made by Irina. 24 hours out of time. We advise you to stay there at least one night to enjoy the experience 100%. Thanks again !

An unforgettable experience and total immersion in nature!

We stayed 3 nights with Jean-Pierre and Irina, at the beginning of August (during turtle nesting season). A timeless Robinson Crusoe experience that we won't soon forget! This was one of our best memories in Panama !! Thank you very much to Jean-Pierre and Irina for their welcome, their kindness, their good meals and congratulations for their commitment to the preservation of turtles! They take the time to share their passion by giving us a unique experience in contact with turtles. We warmly recommend this address!!

Fabulous eco lodge

Unforgettable stay on Jean-Pierre and Irina's little corner of Paradise, on Isla Canas.
The welcome by Jean-Pierre with his boat Dad was very warm. We had the pleasure of eating every breakfast, lunch and dinner during our stay. All the dishes are concocted by Irina, hearty and delicious!
We were able to take a kayak tour in the mangroves and around the river and saw caimans. Their prices are reasonable!
The two evenings from 9 p.m. to midnight or until 2 a.m., we followed Jean-Pierre and participated in saving future baby turtles on the beach of Isla Canas. The experience was just incredible.
The project undertaken by JP and Irina is truly honorable and devoid of financial interest, the fact that it is participatory is even more pleasant and allows us to learn and raise awareness! Because this place needs people like them!
Impossible to visit Panama without stopping by Pachamama if you are sensitive to animal protection!
Thank you again for these two fabulous days.

amazing

A lot of words to describe this place. It is basic, and at the same time, you have anything and everything. You can see the sunset and sunrise. You can hear the Howler monkeys in the morning, you can see and hear a lot of birds. we saw Colibri for example, walking the endless beach (14 km). This place is very relaxing.
During our stay, we had a lot of sea breath. Every night we saw the stars. The room has a mosquito net. We had all our meals here. Everything was delicious. Irina is a great cook.
Pachamama/Jean Pierre ran a great project, the conservation of sea turtles.
Irina and Jean Pierre are great hosts. This is the place if you want to disconnect and enjoy nature.
We are definitely considering returning and volunteering during the turtle season and being part of this project.

Lovely hostel between lagoon and ocean

The site consists of a series of basic buildings made of wood and palm distributed on beach the middle of palm trees. There are some private rooms and shared rooms with hammocks. Isla Cañas is one of the best place in Panama to watch sea turtles nesting during the season from end of July to end of November.
You can rent kayaks, paddles and surfboards on site.
The hotel offers breakfast, for $5 and meals for $12 a full range of drinks and cocktails. A small shared kitchen is available, however be aware that you will be charged for an extra $5 if you bring your cooler with you, even though you take some meals from the hotel.
Electricity is solar panel produced and so restricted. The place has Wifi but password is not shared with customers.
