A spectacular experience.

We had an excellent time, very good service, and the experience of the tours on Gatun Lake and the night tour were simply spectacular. The hotel is a gem in the middle of a tropical rainforest, a good example that progress can positively impact natural areas. The best part was the attention from each of the hotel staff members. Congratulations!

Nature

The hotel has evolved a lot since our last visit 6 years ago. The rooms are better decorated, cleaner and nice.
The buffet is good as well as the breakfast buffet, there are Panamanian specialties at every meal. But of course the most important thing about this hotel is the outdoors and the beautiful walks that can be done alone to see toucans, monkeys, coatis, trogons... do not hesitate to go out and discover all the trails!

My husband and I had a relaxing stay at Gamboa Rainforest Resort. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the pool. Only slight issue was our AC wasn’t working too well. The room stayed a bit warm for our liking. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful location. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable guides. The views from the Art Deco lobby and the river-view rooms were stunning. We loved eveything with the stay.

Do Not Stay Here

This place is about 15yrs past when renovations should have been done. The furniture in our room was clearly from the 80's and has not worn well at all.
The grounds are well kept, and the staff is very friendly.
The common areas were hot and humid all the time.
The location is remote and you are limited to what's available at the resort for food and entertainment. After several meals, we determined that the highest ratings begin would be about a 2.5 out of 5 stars. Most of the food served tasted as if it was old and reheated. The drinks were weak. The remote location had us feeling trapped, as the nearest restaurant was atleast 20mins away.
Although this is labeled as a wildlife reserve, we saw very little wildlife. Having been to other reserves in nearby Costa Rica and Colombia I was soon wondering why I was there.
In the evenings, there was absolutely nothing to do. No entertainment provided, television in Spanish, and nowhere to go.
I strongly do not recommend staying here. I cut my stay short and left a day early.
