Nice and good food

A little hard to rate this place!
This is a place over 100 years old. Beautiful buildings, and a super location. The coastal path goes through the area, so there are many opportunities for hiking in the archipelago.
Of course it is not all that is top modern in such a place, fortunately! Here you get an experience both architectural and historical, and I must say that it is part of the experience.
The food tasted great!
The room was decorated in style with the rest of the hotel and the newly refurbished bathroom. The bed was excellent.
As I said, a little difficult to rate, but would I take the trip back? Absolutely!
Missed a small fridge in the room.
Yes, you can get cheaper and more modern hotels, but do you still have the good feeling in the afternoon?
4 or 5? I give 4.3

Not worth the money. Big disappointment.

The place itself is idyllic, but that is until you get into the room. Incredibly poor cleaning. Spindle tissue all over, old spots on furniture, walls. On the balcony / terrace there were bottles / boxes, garbage, watermelon shell. Dusty and dirty. Although it's an old place, it should have been clean. In the corridor outside, it was the same. Had booked a family room with a large double bed, but there were 2 single beds that were put together and one was about 7-8 cm higher. Had looked forward to our stay because we thought this was an arrogant old hotel. Taken many photos of this which I'm going to send directly to the hotel. Next time it'll be somewhere else. Ruined our entire experience.

Bad experience

Bad service. Dirty room and restaurant. I've been to many hotels but haven't experienced anything as bad as this place before.

Overpricing and tired hotel!

Buildings and rooms must have a Gong has been huge, but as now is what I will call "loslittle" and unspent. We were assigned the tower room. The only positive there was the view and fine wallpaper. Paying NOK 2290 per night for a room with pull-out windows, lack of storage/suspension of clothes, no Apple TV (as it is advertised with), no escape road marking which you must be agile, slim and strong to access, that does not hang together! We had to tell to get the garbage drained and get new towels, no hairdryer in the room, straight and zero luxury! The breakfast was a disappointment, especially for one who has celiac disease. Dry, sad slices of bread were all they had to offer. No label of allergen, no special food for those with allergies. I had to tell those who worked there that gluten-free foods should not coincide with other foods due to contamination (danger of 'infection' from ordinary bread foods) since I put it right there. In 2025 one expects more knowledge and knowledge around this. Here it was reasonable.

Authentic and romantic hotel

If you are looking for something different and authentic this hotel has it all the sea close and rooms are lovely and delicate. The surrounding are suitable for children and justa short walk down to the pittoresque City of Langesund.
