Relaxation oasis in the mountains
The Schönanger is a house with several wonderful Vacation rentals, which are all super charming and lovingly decorated and leave nothing to be desired. Above all, I want to emphasize that I could sleep wonderfully here, the mattresses were very pleasant. We had two balconies in our apartment, it was quiet and with great views to the Zugspitze. The bus stop is outside the door, bread roll service was wonderful and in the basement there were snacks and drinks for purchase. The area is great too. This is accommodation for a dream holiday.

Excellent stay
The owners were very kind and welcoming to me. I only stayed one night, but it was very close to the bus stop and just a 30 minute bus ride to Garmisch and very close to the Zugspitz. The owners even gave me a ride to the train station so that I wouldn’t have to take the bus! Would highly recommend!!

Great Bavarian Place to Stay
I am from Seattle and of course found this accommodation on line.
We made a last minute decision to travel to Grainau to visit Janice's
brother who lives in Grainau. In booking at this Gaestehaus we were not disappointed. The communication via e-mail was great and in my native language which was great. We booked the "Angel ' room and once there found out all rooms have a theme. The room was spotless as was the bathroom and perfect for a couple. The breakfast was included in our rate and again not disappointed. I personally enjoy a Bavarian breakfast, good cereals, bread plus homemade fresh jam and of course meats and fruits. I as stated coming from Seattle we like morning coffee, we were served plenty of coffee and it was very good, a big plus for us.
The internet in the room was great for both my phone and laptop, just login in using the code, that's it. The room was cleaned daily while
we enjoyed our breakfast, again spotless. I would also mention communication was no issue as English is spoken and frequently we were asked if everything was OK. IT OF COURSE WAS.
I have a mild lower back issue and a firm bed is important, again not disappointed. Janice and I will book again when we return. In my opinion one cannot go wrong in booking here.

Idyllic B&B w/ excellent owner
Highly recommended B&B. Great, personalized rooms and incredibly kind and thoughtful service. Breakfast was quite basic, but fully home-made - a touch that really makes a difference.
Come by car, since it is not within walking distance from the slopes.

All the ingredients for a great time are there, but...
The Wi-Fi was a real pain - impossible to use for mobile devices (some system based on ticketing and login using random, 8 letters, user and password, requiring re-login after every phone or tablet sleep time). The breakfast was not a strong point, either. Heating had some problems during the first days.
However, this is a great location, rooms are big, clean, well illuminated and decorated with good taste. The hosts are extremely nice people
