Good.

Hotel with 139 rooms over 9 levels, under the Courtyard by Marriott brand, located in the port area of Düsseldorf, about fifteen minutes by car from the old town. The area is not the most lively in the city, but there are still a few restaurants to be found. Room in line with brand standards, featuring a very large screen television with multiple satellite channels (but only 2 in French). Bathroom with somewhat austere decor and a bathtub. Good bedding. Very good breakfast. Gym (which I did not visit) and parking. Professional staff. Good value for money.

The room was normal. It was carpeted and there was an odour throughout the hotel. Not bad but sort of thoroughly used. Perhaps carpet cleaning and some air cleaner or fragrance is needed.
The bath has a tub for bathing. Not very convenient as there was no separate shell. Parking was paid and opposite the hotel. But it was on open grounds and did not feel protected.
The area was good.

Good 4* hotel in a very good location

A decent 4* hotel in a very good location and with a great breakfast.
We were here for one night and it was perfect for us.
On the ground floor there is a nice bar/restaurant (Julians) with super friendly service. The breakfast buffet is also served here, which stood out with, among other things, freshly squeezed orange juice, Bircher muesli, various egg dishes, salmon, and high-quality sausage.
The room was spacious and clean. The two single beds were large and had good mattresses. The bathroom was a bit small, but perfectly adequate for a short stay.
Check-in and check-out were smooth, friendly, and fast.

Service fireworks!

We are often and gladly guests at Bonvoy chain properties, but what the team at the Courtyard by Marriott in the Düsseldorf Medienhafen has in store in terms of services for loyal Bonvoy customers is simply breathtaking! Right down to a pastry plate for my birthday! And if you ever have a somewhat more specific request at the front desk (we had a rather rare voucher, for example) and the employee at the front desk is currently overwhelmed, then a senior manager is immediately on hand who can resolve your question in a charming and competent manner. Here, the management does not hide in some back offices, as one unfortunately often experiences otherwise as a hotel guest. There is parking downstairs in the building, which is also cool in the Medienhafen. The rooms (well, there are certainly more modern hotel rooms in Düsseldorf) offer everything you need. Right down to a fast-absorbing body lotion (which is something many 4-star hotels are now cutting back on). So, a perfect stay at this well-managed property of the Marriott group!

A pied à terre for the Christmas market

We were at this property because it is a 30 minute walk from the Christmas market. Access by car is easy, however, there is no free parking (24€ for one night in the hotel, 30€ for the one that is public outside). The hostess (Hesley his first name, it seems to me) welcomed us warmly. Besides, we had it during our entire (short) stay. She was very dynamic, speaks good English and likes to chat with customers. The room is spacious and clean. The view was not extraordinary because it overlooked a building just in front of the window. At the bathroom level, the tap had a leak and it was flowing down even without using it. The bedding is very comfortable though. During the night, the hotel is quiet except if you open the window, there is music coming from outside. Breakfast is okay and there is milk without lactose (it is quite rare). The evening restaurant is very good too. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night because my husband was ill and we had to shorten the stay but it was a great experience. I recommend.
