Nice experience
This was an excellent surprise staying in a hotel in the area of Osnabrueck !
Very clean rooms,
Excellent indoor pool and sauna.
Breakfast included Eur 45.
Absolutely to recommend !
I'll certainly come back here next time, a perfect cost saving hotel.

Okay but...
Overall speaking this hotel was okay. The room was furnished rather simple and practical, nothing special. Though I'm told that's German standard - I haven't stayed much in German hotels and I'm used to more charming rooms in English B&B's. Anyway, our room here was on the first floor, there was an elevator (though we didn't use it). The room had a balcony, that was very nice. The en-suite bathroom had a shower that didn't work properly. The water switched from cold to scalding hot and back in the matter of seconds and you really had to be careful not to be burnt. It definitely needs improvement. So does the staff, I have to say. The two women who served breakfast were friendly enough but the young man who first welcomed us on our arrival... well, I think he said no more than five words. He let us carry our luggage around while showing us where breakfast wound be served, where the pool was etc... and then he sent us to our room (he didn't even mention that it was on the first floor, we had to search for it). Very unprofessional, I must say.
Breakfast was nothing special. I've had better. There was next to no choice in cereals, and the cheese... it wasn't to my liking. There was however a good choice of bread, rolls, jam, fruit, yoghurt... it wasn't that bad.
Still, I don't think I'll stay here again.

Avoid it
The pension is a little bit out of the village and the room was simple but quite nice. Unfortunately there was a smell! We used the spa for about half an hour and the day after we found out it was not included in the room rate. But of course the lady didn't tell us when we asked if we could use it..Bad Laer is an uninteresting village and the Pension Pieper Kersten is a very average hotel.

Quiet German pension
My husband and I stayed in this hotel at the end of May 2010. The room was simple but clean, and the swimming pool was ok as well, included in the room tariff. The breakfast wasn't exciting. You could choose to have also dinner, and it was very simple and healthy, with small portions and boiled vegetables. You could have dinner only at 18.00. The hotel is quite near the thermal center in the small village, but if you want to move and see the sorroundings, it would be better to have also a car, because the village is quite small and after one day you have seen everything. The hotel is really quiet and you can sleep deeply. The furniture of the room is cheap but functional, enough for a short stay. The pillows were quite old and definitely too soft. You could have free internet wifi connection for 2 hours (renewable). The staff can speak only German. I would suggest this hotel only to old German-speaking people that want to relax few days.

Perfetto!!!
Un albergo bellissimo, familiare, pulitissimo e accogliente. Ci sono stata con la mia sorella e la mia madre. Weekend Relax. Piscina e cabina a luce Infrarossi in albergo. Il Massaggio prenotato è stato fantastico e la terapista viene in albergo. Poco lontano trovate il parco, il paese con ristoranti e cafe. Bad Laer é un paesino tranquillo e accogliente. Noi abbiamo anche usufruito della grotta del sale. Nelle vicinanze si trovano altri paesini carini come Bad Iburg e Bad Rothenfelde con grande Saline che fanno bene alle vie respiratorie. Comunque in tutto una ottima scelta!
