Great value for money. Very central.

I found myself well. I didn't have any problems. The hotel is very central. The room was huge, certainly not brand new but still the price acceptable. The hotel is very central but still quiet. The night was 3 degrees but it was fine inside without heating. Breakfast is ok, essential. better go taken (ie at 7).

A hotel that should NOT be in the hospitality business.

This hotel was booked for 7 nights in total as part of an organized tour of Mongolia. We are 3 adults and 1 child and were given two standard rooms with breakfast. We later paid personally to upgrade to superior rooms.
The things that went wrong:
There was no phone in one room, so we had to go down to the front desk to make any request.
The 'fresh' towels provided were wet towels, and a request for two extra pillows was not accommodated on the first night because the housekeeping staff had gone home. We never got the extra pillows even though we stayed seven nights.
Bed linen and towels were torn and had holes in them.
Returning at 5 pm after a sightseeing tour to find that our rooms were unmade, when we had hung the 'please make up room' sign on the door. The front desk told us they only had 3 housekeeping staff, who prioritised the rooms where new guests would check in, and we should have informed the front desk in the morning that we wanted our rooms cleaned. Our rooms were finally made up at 6.30pm. And by made up I mean trash can emptied and fresh towels and water bottles. They did not make the beds nor vacumm the floor nor give us clean glasses.
When we returned for the last three nights of our stay, the front desk staff (who did not speak English) gave us room keys which were for the original category of room booked. When we showed proof of payment for the room upgrade, our request was denied as they were 'fully booked' for the upgrade category rooms. It is interesting that while we were having this conversation (via google translate), one of the rooms which we had previously stayed in, was offered right in front of us to a walk-in guest! The front desk staff and the other guest's tour guide kept making comments in their language in which our nationality was mentioned a few times, as well as our religion.
It is doubly interesting that when our tour agency person spoke with the hotel manager, the upgrade category rooms magically became available. We were finally able to check in at 11.15pm. My young child had fallen asleep on the reception area sofa by then, and a request for help with the luggage while I carried him was very rudely denied. They were clearly upset at having to give us the upgrade category rooms.
We were also refused the luggage we had stored at the hotel (at 20,000 Tughrik per bag per night) because we returned at 10pm after a tour and were told the luggage room was locked for the night, and we could only have the luggage the next morning. We had explicitly told them that we would be late returning after the tour, and they did not tell us about this 'rule' at that time. I also requested that my child's food was in the luggage so we needed them, but the front desk person refused. The funny part is that the key to the luggage room was with the front desk person all the while, and the luggage room (essentially a private dining room) was just behind the reception area.
When they finally deigned to open the luggage room, after I asked them to show me this rule in writing, we were told via google translate to take the luggage immediately. When we requested for a porter, the front desk staff locked the room with our luggage still inside and walked away.
The breakfast buffet was the same every day and very uninspiring. They did not refill the buffet for guests who came in late.
If the full payment had not been made in advance, we would certainly have left the hotel. This experience left a very bitter taste in our otherwise wonderful Mongolian journey.
The bottom line - the only plus point of this hotel is it's location. The service, especially the extremely uncooperative and rude front desk staff, room cleanliness, and food at breakfast were all so far below standard, it is hard to believe they call themselves a 4-star hotel. Even 2 stars would be pushing it.

Disappointing

Very disappointed with this hotel. It is an old hotel that needs refurbishing. Wallpaper peeling away from wall. Cleaning not up to scratch. The room was spacious and the breakfast was quite nice. Bed was hard, no give in it. Shower was tepid at best. Pillows very floppy, flat. No additional pillows available. Shower floor had not been cleaned. Hairs on floor of previous visitor. Only one towel and towel damp. When another towel was left it was also damp. Front desk staff not very helpful. We stayed as part of a tour and came back to this hotel. After the second stay we were booked to come back again at end of tour, but after talking with our guides, they contacted their office and we went to a different hotel for our last night in Mongolia. Much better.

Comfortable but no atmosphere.

When I picked up the hotel business card at the reception desk, I was a bit surprised. I could have thought that we had landed in paradise. Yes, the hotel rooms are spacious and quite comfortably equipped, and the bathrooms are functional and comfortable, but the hotel surroundings are far from paradise. This is where we spent our first and last night in Mongolia. We spent the remaining nights in the gerah, i.e. the local yurts, so I can't compare it with other hotels, but the business card is a bit idolatrous.

They lie like they breathe!

On April 10, 2024, we checked into Platinum, booked on Booking for 3 days. When checking in, we asked that the room not have windows overlooking a construction site. We were in a hurry to get to work, dropped our things and ran away, returned late in the evening and saw that there was construction under the window, but we were tired and decided to change rooms in the morning. But it was impossible to sleep because of the noise! In the morning we asked to change the room and were told that there were no rooms. We asked to return our money for the two remaining days, we were told that they could not solve anything, the manager would come at 13:00 with her to solve everything. We released the company car and began to wait for the manager, but after 10 minutes they called from the reception and calmly returned the money to us. Of course, we lost due to the difference in rates, but we didn’t care. When we checked in, we paid for half a day plus, but for some reason they charged us not 50% of the room rate, almost 80%.
The furniture is old, the sofas are sagging and so are the armrests of the sofas. The toilet seat is not secured by anything, the toilet bowl is cracked, and there is more toilet paper than there is.
We arrived for breakfast at 9 o’clock and were already eating the leftovers.
We wanted to leave a review on Booking, but the option was not available, it turns out that Platinum made a note that we were not checked in. There is a lot of deception!
