The private getaway I was looking for
Honestly, I wish I could give service 10 stars.
From Jesus at check-in to Jose Luis at the restaurant/bar. Jose taught us a new phrase “todo es posible” everything is possible. The staff at the hotel truly made me feel like that was the case.
SURE Tulum has a problem with seaweed this time of year. That’s the state of the natural world, not a reason for complaint (you can thank global warming). I cannot emphasize enough how this DID NOT AFFECT the quality of my time at the hotel nor Tulum writ large. The front desk staff connected me with Donavan at Tulum Private drivers for coordination and transportation to/from the airport- we even used his guide service for a trip to Suytun and Chichén Itzá which was magnificent. Casa Cenote is literally steps from the entrance which was absolutely divine, and the front desk will get a cab to come to the hotel if you want to get into town (we even negotiated with the driver to get around to other cenotes before we went back).
If it’s April/may/June when you read this, book the trip. There’s so much to see and do, and it feels like you have Tulum to yourself!
P.s. the cleaning staff left us with different towel animals or shapes each day of our visit! It was SUCH a nice touch

We love this hotel
The hotel is incredible, the decor of the place is very beautiful, very quiet. My daughters were happy in the pools. We love the landscape and the rooms. At this time of year, there is sargassum, getting into the sea is difficult, but the view and the tranquility are always there. The restaurant is delicious and it is pleasant to sit down to eat/have dinner/have breakfast.
The hotel staff are very kind and helpful, especially Jose Luis.
This is the second time we have stayed here and it is highly recommended.

A must if your in the neighborhood!
José Luis was an excellent host to us as we dined and swam at the hotel. We visited twice and he took care of all our needs. Even when we forgot dive masks, towels, and bug repellent, Jose Luis saved the day so our visit was spectacular. The sunsets were beautiful and the drinks were exceptional. I would highly recommend. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our three kids enjoyed it as much as we did

Pleasant Surprise
Mereva Tulum was an unexpected stay for us. We originally booked at the Nerea Tulum but our reservation was transferred to Mereva Tulum due to Nerea temporary closure. The location is in Tankah Bay. It’s safe. We stayed at the hotel and along the beach the entire stay. We felt and were completely safe. The atmosphere is calm, beautiful, and relaxing.
The hotel is clean and beautiful. The room was very clean.
The service was exceptional. Jose Luis went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and fed well. I needed gluten free meals. Down to my polenta crust pizza, he arranged that I be taken care of. That eased my mind, as I brought gluten free food with me just in case. I didn’t even need to eat what I packed. We even celebrated Mexico’s win in the World Cup one night of play. There were so many kind acts provided to my husband and I. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner was wonderful. Juan served us breakfast each morning. Once again, service was wonderful. Dalia at the front desk was so helpful and attentive with the reservation as well as directing us to activities such as kayaking.
The biggest problem is the sargassum. It’s environmental and not the hotel’s fault. When it’s decomposing it is unbearable to smell. We had most days where we could enjoy the pools and the hammocks at the end of the pier. We even tried kayaking. Our inexperience prevented us from going out in 11mph winds but we saw other more experienced kayakers out on the bay. Also we had the roof top suite which allowed us enjoy the ocean view, as the smell of the sargassum rarely made it up to our siting area, except on the last day when the wind direction changed.
I recommend Mereva Tulum and I’m happy we stayed. The service by Jose Luis, Juan, Dalia, and other staff members made our 25th anniversary stay very special and extremely enjoyable. Thank you and we plan to visit again. I’m sure I’m leaving something good out. I hope this review sheds light and answers some questions you may have.

Great for happy hour
Came here for happy hour cocktails. They have super tasty pina colada and margarita (ask for with Tajin). Very chilled out bar and José Luis was amazing host. Must come back!
