A lovely spot

We stayed 10 days at Palma Royal. We loved the condo, the view, the grounds and the pools.. There was major noisy construction going on in the day time while we were there and we ended up changing condos midway during the stay. However, the friendly and helpful staff did its best to help us change quarters. We did not have any internet and this was quite inconvenient. No matter where we tried to connect on the property it did not work ...the employes said it worked on their devices... The place is a good choice if you like to walk as we do. Palma Real Condos are 6 km from Santiago village walking by the beach. We walked early in the morning. To come back we used taxis that drove us to the little bridge near la Boquita instead of driving all the way around which is quite longer. We’d come back.

Beautiful view. That's it.

Beautiful view. That's it. Very dated and poorly maintained. Room had dead cockroaches, peeling paint, huge toilet paper dispenser that prevented proper sitting on toilet. NO bottled water (essential in Mexico), no soap, paper towels, tissue, shampoo.

Restaurant quality deteriorated over past year

The Palma Real Restaurant has been our go to restaurant for breakfast and comida for many years - no more.
Awful food and ridiculous prices. Ordered beef fajitas ($150), The beef contained gristle or sinews. Chicken fried with almonds almost as bad. Not appetizing. We will not be back.

Read before booking

I travel quite a bit and have lived in Mexico for months at a time. So I give this review with some experience. To start I always try and find the best I can in a place. Then share the worst. The best thing about this place is Saul the restaurant manager and a great server. He was very friendly and efficient. He gets 4 stars. The grounds are on excellent shape and well cared for. That about wraps it up for the good. The worst about this place is number 1 the location. It has a great view but it is 2.5 km to the nearest store for supplies. So your talking about a 5 km hike there and back just for water because they don't supply it which is number 2. Number 3 they only came once during our 8 day stay to do house keeping and they didn't even restock the soap and shampoo. The room was dirty and is in need of complete Reno. The beach across the bridge is packed with people and is fairly dirty. The sand is hard and most of the beach umbrellas are for rent. So in closing if you want to stay in this area go right into the hotel zone in Manzanillo you will be much happier.

Relaxation

Good service.
Hotel rooms are very spacious.
About 20 minutes to get back to resturant and stores.
It has a great view of all manzanillo.
Surrounded by wildlife. Don't be scared very friendly. But don't touch the little ones.
