A charming address in the heart of Tangier
I had an excellent stay at the Maison de Tanger. The staff is particularly charming, attentive, and always available. A special mention to the hostess, who is always present while remaining discreet, and who takes great care of her guests' well-being.
The house is a true haven of peace. Every space invites relaxation: the dining room, the rooftop with its pleasant view, the lush garden, and the pool, discreetly integrated into a calming setting. One quickly forgets the hustle and bustle of the city.
The location is also a major asset: just a few meters from the medina and the historic heart of Tangier, everything can be done on foot. I also appreciated the airport transfer service offered at a negotiated rate, which is convenient and reassuring.
The breakfast is plentiful, varied, and of high quality, perfect for starting the day well.
My only downside concerns the room that was assigned to me as a solo traveler. Room number 11 is, in my opinion, the least interesting in the house. With an area not exceeding ten square meters, a rather low ceiling, and a small single bed, the comfort is more limited than in the rest of the establishment, which is otherwise remarkable in quality.
Despite this reservation, I have a very good memory of my stay and I gladly recommend it.

Merci ! Nous sommes contents de savoir que vous avez apprécié La Maison à ce point. En effet, bien que située au coeur de la ville, une fois les portes franchies, c’est un autre monde qui s’ouvre à nous, où le tumulte de la ville et le mouvement humain sont remplacés par un calme inspirant et le chant des oiseaux, où le béton se transforme en jardin vert luxuriant. Nous adorons ce contraste offert. Nous savons aussi à quel point les imprévus et les inconnus du voyage peuvent devenir un stress inutile, et c’est pourquoi nous nous sommes entourés d’une équipe fiable pour les transferts de l’aéroport, de la gare, ou du port.
Quant à la chambre que vous avez occupée, c’est effectivement la plus petite de la maison, offerte seulement aux voyageurs en solo, réalité qui se reflète aussi dans son prix moins élevé. N’hésitez pas à essayer une autre chambre lors de votre prochain séjour avec nous ; elles sont toutes différentes les unes des autres !

Home from Home
I had a lovely couple of days at La Maison de Tanger. I could have easily spent a week there! I loved how relaxing the place is. The staff are so welcoming and make it feel like home - Sandra, Mohammed, Raida and the lady who cooks breakfast and dinner. I ate at the Maison one evening in the tranquil garden and it was the best tagine of my time in Morocco. The flavours were amazing. I loved swimming in the pool and slept like a baby at night! Thank you for making it so special. Can't wait for my next visit.

Thank you Debbie! We are so glad that you felt at home during your time with us, it truly means a lot to us all! It’s been a pleasure having you with us, too! And you said it right: we still have to eat a better tajine than those cooked by Ilham, our in-house chef. She is truly the best! La Maison offers a beautiful contrast with the hustle and bustle of the city, and we think it is perfect this way… We like it to be a quiet, resourceful place to come to after a day roaming in the streets. We hope to see you again soon – for one week or longer!

Disappointment.
We had booked 6 nights at the house in Tangier, but we only stayed 4, so disappointed. Our first two nights were in room 9, a pretty room with a very small bathroom, but above all, a smell of sewage and dampness. We told the manager, who looked down on us, saying that it was absolutely not the case... The breakfast was mediocre; we have traveled a lot in Morocco, and this is the first time... We preferred to go elsewhere and stayed in a great riad for half the price with charming hospitality and delicious breakfasts. Even though most reviews are good for the house in Tangier, we do not recommend this establishment.

Nous sommes quelque peu déçus par votre commentaire, d’autant plus que, tout au long de votre séjour, nous vous avons accueillie avec respect et sourire, malgré un début de séjour plutôt délicat.
À la suite de votre remarque à votre arrivée, nous avons procédé à un nettoyage approfondi de votre salle de bain afin d’éliminer toute odeur éventuelle. Par la suite, vous avez changé de chambre et ne nous avez fait part d’aucun commentaire, ni positif ni négatif, à son sujet. Nous avons donc supposé que celle-ci vous convenait et que votre séjour s’y déroulait agréablement.
Concernant le petit-déjeuner, nous savons que vous avez insisté sur le fait que les crêpes servies n’étaient pas marocaines. Malgré les explications fournies et les images présentées à l’appui, il nous a été difficile de comprendre ce qui aurait pu davantage répondre à vos attentes.
Nous sommes sincèrement désolés d’apprendre que La Maison n’a pas été à la hauteur de vos espérances. Nous espérons néanmoins que votre séjour à Tanger vous aura permis de découvrir et d’apprécier la beauté de la ville.

Nous sommes ravis de savoir que le hammam et le massage ont été à la hauteur de vos attentes ! Bien que situés à l’intérieur de La Maison, le service est offert à tous. Il est aussi possible de prendre un verre de thé, de café, de vin, ou bien de profiter de notre happy hour au jardin ou bien sur la terrasse. Un endroit parfait pour voyager dans un monde totalement nouveau… Bienvenue dans notre oasis au coeur de la magnifique ville de Tanger !
