Inconsistent

I stayed at the Marriott Rabat for six nightsand found it a convenient and reasonably comfortable place to base myself, though several details fell short of what I usually expect from a Marriott.
The location is one of the hotel’s strongest points. It sits right in the centre of the city, only a short walk from the botanical gardens, the Royal Palace, a shopping mall with a large supermarket in the basement, and a good choice of restaurants. The building itself is very spread out rather than tall, so depending on your room you may find yourself walking quite long distances along corridors.
The bed was a real highlight — always beautifully made and extremely comfortable. There was plenty of storage space. The bathroom offered useful lighting options, but the shower needed more thorough cleaning: mildew was visible on the walls and in the mortar, and the rainforest showerhead was so clogged with limescale that it sprayed in every direction until I cleared the holes. The basin is unusually tall and awkward to use. I also noticed small ants in the bathroom most days, and the room floors never felt completely clean. The carpets in the corridors looked permanently grubby.
One particularly annoying design issue involved the Nespresso machine. It shares a raised tray with a water heating kettle, and the power cord has so little space that it constantly lifts the water reservoir off its intake. The machine only works if you carefully re-angle it so the cord lies flat. Housekeeping returned it to the original (non-working) position every day, so it had to be adjusted again each morning.
Housekeeping overall was inconsistent. Water bottles and Nespresso pods appeared in varying numbers or not at all, and the towel count changed during the stay. On the positive side, they sometimes left friendly handwritten notes.
Service was polite but slow. On the first night the USB ports in the room were dead; after calling and then waiting half an hour I had to go to the front desk before anyone came to fix them. I also requested a power adapter (the room has no USB-C ports) and was repeatedly told housekeeping would deliver it — it never arrived that night. Guests can often walk into the breakfast area without anyone asking for a room number. As a Marriott Platinum member I received lounge access but no upgrade.
Breakfast is serviceable but average for the price, with little variety from day to day. The Moroccan crêpes, pancakes and pastry selection were excellent. On my final morning there were a lot of flies, which was off-putting. Several sofas in the breakfast room were damp because condensation from the air-conditioning units above them dripped directly onto the seats.
The club lounge is small and the selection limited, with mostly coffee, tea, cookies and soft drinks. The basement gym is cramped but adequately equipped. Every emergency exit door seemed to be left cracked open from the outside of the hotel, which does make one question security. Also, my room door would only close if I pulled it or pushed it hard, so do not expect your room door to close by itself.
Overall, the excellent location and very comfortable bed make this a workable choice for a stay in Rabat. Tighter housekeeping, cleaner showers and carpets, a better-designed Nespresso setup, and a more interesting breakfast would bring the hotel closer to the standard most guests expect from Marriott. It works if location and a good night’s sleep are your main priorities, but it doesn’t feel fully polished.

This is my second stay at this hotel ,the service was excellent,a special mention for mrs Khadija the manager as well as the reception lounge staff and the chambermaids.

Worst Honeymoon Ever

Worst Honeymoon Ever - Lied, Asked for 1000 MAD and Did NothingWe told Marriott Rabat before arrival that we were coming for our honeymoon.
We were expecting something special.
But it turned out to be heartbreaking.At check-in the front desk told us "if you want the room decorated for honeymoon you have to pay 1000 MAD".
1000 Moroccan Dirhams for some flowers.I said no this is not acceptable. Then the manager came and apologized and promised us they will prepare the room for us.
We believed her and went up to the room waiting.But nothing was done. Nothing at all.
No flowers, no care, no respect.This is not Marriott. This is not the Marriott standard.
We felt ignored and lied to on the most important trip of our lives.
Marriott Rabat ruined our honeymoon.
Rating 1 out of 5. I do not recommend this hotel for couples.

Central clean

Nice hotel, clean and nice rooms, lovely staff. There are two very good restaurants, and the proximity to the mall allows you to benefit from the supermarket or other ahopping options. Located Very centrally in the city.
