Hotel Selfoss was Happy Surprise during Iceland explorations

I have such wonderful things to say about Hotel Selfoss! It was a happy surprise!
We switched hotels 6 times over 9 nights as we traveled from Reykjavik to Hofn and back again. Hotel Selfoss was hotel #5.
First, heated bathroom floors are a revelation! Outstanding upgrade. And the bathroom was big too, and such a smart design to have an large area to place your items behind the sink area. I don't remember shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom, but that didn't bother me because I brought my own.
The river/bridge view from our room was beautiful!
And parking was free for hotel guests. No need to pay in app.
The TV worked at this hotel. We got a couple stations. That was not the case at every hotel we stayed at.
And free breakfast was great. My boyfriend was disappointed there was no cappuccino machine, but we made up for it by adding the available whipped cream to regular coffee. I personally enjoyed the oatmeal. I didn't try the cod liver oil, but it was an option for those who are interested.
We did not try the onsite spa or hot tub, but we did get a welcome email informing us of their availability.
Hotel Selfoss is a Great Value! And the staff is WONDERFUL and very accommodating. A shout-out to Nina for searching for my lost item. I truly appreciate her efforts. You went above and beyond!
I would suggest to anyone traveling to Iceland to try to spend at least 1 night at this hotel if you can.

The looks on the outside looked a little run down. The reception area was outdated but functional. This is a bus line hotel so the majority of clients are q tips. This shows the hotel is affordable and well run otherwise they would not book the hotel.
I found this place to be comfortable and pleasant to stay at. Quiet, clean, and easy parking made this book a four star. A verity of food vendors are at walking distance and a ice cream establishment is in the same parking lot.

Beautiful property overlooking the river and the most photographed church in Selfoss, near the small town center and some typical local spots; it has a spa inside, presumably, but we couldn't figure out if it was included in the price.
Good breakfast with a view of the river, spacious room with a varied selection.
Very beautiful and comfortable room.

Skip the breakfast if you can.

Good location, comfortable bed, and very clean. Breakfast is not very good in the coffee is really terrible. They heated the room before ourarrival so it was way too warm. As when most other places in Iceland, the windows don’t open very far and it was difficult to cool it down for sleeping. Take your credit card with you to the bar or restaurant because those are run by separate company and you can’t put it on a room tab

We loved our stay. It was amazing and the staff was so helpful and kind. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
