WORST!
Not a real hotel! There’s only one person managing the place, no staff, and absolutely no room service. The location is terrible—inside a dirty Gali full of garbage and cow dung. Don’t trust the pictures online; they’re completely misleading. Avoid at all costs!
Area feels unsafe and poorly maintained, especially after dark. No sense of security whatsoever.
Walkability is terrible. Broken narrow gali filled with cow dung, garbage, and filth—walking outside is disgusting.
No food or drink services available. Don’t expect even basic eating options nearby.
Overall a miserable stay. Poor location, poor facilities, and not worth the money or effort. Avoid at all costs.

Pathetic experience
Here is a more angry but still professional version (strong, firm, and impactful):
Absolutely terrible experience with #RivertownStay. The property was completely misrepresented—photos and videos shown during booking were false and misleading. We arrived with our family, including elderly parents and children, and were shocked by the unhygienic conditions. The rooms were filthy, mattresses were foul-smelling, washrooms were disgusting, and even basic necessities like drinking water were not provided. When we demanded a refund due to these unacceptable conditions, it was flatly refused and the staff responded with rude and unprofessional behavior. The approach to the property was unbearable, constantly stinking and extremely unhygienic. This stay caused serious discomfort and distress to our entire family. Strongly advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs.

Extremely Disappointing & Misleading – Do Not Book
River Town Stays, Varanasi is a textbook example of false advertising and poor management. The photos shared before booking are completely different from reality. The hotel is located in the middle of a slum area, unhygienic and unsafe. In fact, two other guests left immediately after seeing the location. That should tell you everything.
Despite being an industry standard, the hotel did not proactively provide 2 water bottles per room per day. There was no garbage cleaning, no housekeeping, and no room service unless repeatedly chased. Even after requesting multiple times, basic things were either delayed or ignored.
We stayed as a large family, and even after knowing this at the time of booking, the hotel failed to recommend additional rooms upfront. Only after complaints, and purely as damage control, they offered one extra room in a half-hearted and unprofessional manner.
To make things worse, we were the only family staying in the entire hotel, which speaks volumes about its credibility and demand. On top of all this, no GST bill was provided, raising serious concerns about transparency and compliance.
Overall, this place lacks basic hygiene, honesty, hospitality, and accountability.
Strongly not recommended. Avoid at all costs.
