Poorly maintained aged property
This is a very old property and lack of maintenance makes it look older. Room is quite large, but the mattress was saggy and the sheets and pillows looked shabby. The single seater sofa in the room was without one leg and was full of stains. The curtains also looked like it was not washed in the near future. Though I heard someone complaining on air conditioning, it was working well in our room. Complimentary water bottles were provided. The wall laminations were peeling off in certain places. TV remote was not working.
Bathroom was large, but, the only two bath towels were provided and I didn’t feel like using it. There were no hand towels or face towels. The toilet seats were not in proper place. Water was leaking from the wash basin area and the floor was always wet. There was no floor towel. The towel rack was rusty. Toiletries were of sub-standard quality.
As breakfast was not included in the tariff, we had to pay for the buffet breakfast, which was sub-standard. Items in the buffet were idly, Pongal, dal wada, dosa and porotta, Fruits, salad and juice were name sake with some fruits and few tomatoes and cucumber kept in a bowl. In the continental sections, there was oats, boiled eggs and some muffins. Air conditioning was not on, maybe because we were the only guests in a huge restaurant, which could accommodate about 100 guests. This indicates the occupancy also.
Though they offer free Wi-Fi, we never got connected. We took up the matter with the reception staff, but they could not sort it out.
The staff were polite, but, however hard they try, they will not be able to make the guests happy, unless the management is serious on re-furbishing the property and do timely maintenance.
